Over ons

Diverse Leaders in Tech is a world-class network of like-minded peers on a mission to create a more diverse and inclusive tech ecosystem. In an industry that has historically excluded people who do not fit the norm, we believe if your identity is the exception, and you lead in tech, you are pretty exceptional. We are a community of communities that surpasses gender, skin color, sexual orientation and more, to create a new norm that not only challenges, but can actually change the status quo.

Our recent Diverse Leaders in Tech event with Enrique Gaya, Willemijn van Woerkom 🏳️🌈, Caterina (Cat.) Moraga-Scholte 🦄 and Ingrid Tappin 🏳️🌈 sparked important conversations on workplace diversity, bias, and self-advocacy. Here are some key insights from the event: 💡 Bias Starts Early: Many realize from childhood that they’ll be treated differently. Recognizing this is the first step toward change. 🎤 Amplify Women’s Voices: Women are often interrupted in meetings, and their ideas gain more traction when repeated by male colleagues. Let’s call this out and create space for every voice. 🚀 Self-Advocacy Matters: Many hesitate to apply for leadership roles or invest in their growth. Confidence, mentorship, and community support are game-changers! 🤝 Allyship is Key: If you’re in a position of influence, use it! Speak up, lift others, and create inclusive workplaces where everyone can thrive. What’s Next? ✅ Expanding our mentorship program to empower more women in tech ✅ Creating more spaces for honest conversations & learning ✅ Encouraging leaders & allies to take real action What action will you take to break barriers? 👉 Join our community program & be part of the change!

Last week, I had the honor of being a panel member at the Diverse Leaders in Tech gathering, hosted by Google, alongside inspiring leaders like Andreia Dos Santos (Google) Janneke Niessen (CapitalT) and Ingrid Tappin 🏳️🌈 (Diverse Leaders in Tech) to discuss a critical question: Is AI a driver for diversity in tech—or does it risk reinforcing bias? The conversation left me more convinced than ever: diversity is not just a moral imperative; it’s a strategic advantage. When the tech sector reflects the diversity of society, we create solutions that truly resonate with the needs of all. Key insights that resonated with me: 1️⃣ AI must mirror society: AI can only address real-world challenges when designed by diverse teams. Inclusivity ensures innovation that benefits everyone. 2️⃣ Upskilling is essential: Governments and organizations must invest in upskilling and reskilling initiatives, breaking barriers for underrepresented groups to step into the tech world. 3️⃣ Localized approaches matter: Smaller, culturally relevant AI models are critical to overcoming the biases often embedded in global datasets. As leaders, we have a responsibility to shape AI as a tool for equity, not exclusion. Together, through diverse representation and collaboration, we can unlock the true potential of tech to drive progress for everyone. #DiversityInTech #AI #Inclusion #Innovation Archipel Academy quofox Springest Edubookers De Leerrekening Class by Archipel Academy

  • 🌟 Reflecting on last Thursday's meetup with Mews, we are truly inspired by the candid and powerful conversations shared on embedding an LGBTQ+ inclusivity into the core of a business. A heartfelt thank you to our speakers, Matthijs Welle, Magali Elhage, and Alexey Viljoen, as well as our moderator, Ingrid Tappin 🏳️🌈, for leading with such openness and authenticity. 🔑 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬: 👥 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗻𝗲: Leaders like Matthijs demonstrate that storytelling and role modeling are essential.
