📣 Graduate Meetup 2024 📣 This week, we welcomed our community during our Graduate Meetup at CIC Rotterdam. It was wonderful to see so many founders, LPs, donors, alumni, and other supporters come together. Our highlights: 🎙️ Scaling Smarter with Daniel Ropers  Daniel Ropers, former CEO of bol and Springer Nature, shared insights into scaling efficiently during an insightful keynote, highlighting the importance of structure and metrics in your growth journey. This week, I had the privilege of organizing the Women in AI Benelux "Rotterdam Circle" event together with Goda Mockute. It was an evening filled with insightful discussions, vibrant ideas, and deep exploration into the intersections of technology, creativity, and humanity. The theme "Al & Human Creativity or Al vs Human Creativity" was covered by inspiring speakers: Trilce Navarrete and Ayça Turan. Here’s a quick recap of my thoughts based on the keynotes and discussions: Generative AI has brought production tools into the hands of many, making creativity and innovation more accessible. But is this "true" democratization? Are the barriers really down, or are we trading control for convenience? While the internet connected us, social media often isolated us into silos. With AI, we face a new challenge: creating global frameworks for responsible, human-centered regulation. Can we shape AI that respects diversity and empowers humanity rather than dividing it? Can AI replicate creativity, emotions, intelligence, or consciousness? The consensus seems to be: not yet. While AI excels at narrow, task-specific domains, true general intelligence—integrating creativity, awareness, and emotions—remains elusive. The core of creativity, many argued, lies in “consciousness”: the ability to be aware of one’s actions and the meaning behind them. Machines, for now, lack this core. With AI capable of generating endless streams of content, the question arises: will human knowledge and uniquely crafted, clean, creative content become the new premium currency? Afgelopen woensdag was het zo ver: het laatste Bakkie Impact van 2024. Dit keer over strategie, propositie en acties die je kunt ondernemen om als impactonderneming te groeien. De ervaren (sociale) ondernemers van S-Days verzorgden deze sessie. Zo vertelde Michiel Bodt over zijn ondernemerservaringen. De belangrijkste take-away: Groeien doe je door samenwerking. 🤝 De pijlers voor een sociale onderneming zijn niet zozeer méér (winst en groei) maar financieel stabiel zijn, de juiste samenwerkingen opzetten en de positieve impact vergroten. En, een belangrijke, hoe maken we het probleem dat je als impactondernemer oplost bespreekbaar en dragen we bij aan het gesprek en de oplossing om dit bij de bron aan te pakken. Als voorbeeld werd gegeven: Koken met verspild voedsel is super, maar hoe zorgen we dat we voedselverspilling überhaupt voorkomen? In de workshops gingen we dieper in op: - de BHAG (waar sta je straks) - Leiderschap (hoe laat ik als ondernemer in de groei de juiste dingen los) - - Groei (in €€€ en in Impact) - Propositie en identiteit (wat is je merk, wat lever je?) Tot slot de gedeelde tips door S-Days: ⭐ Vier successen uitbundig!  ⭐ Wees overtuigd van je kracht (ga van vragen naar eisen bij financierders) ⭐ Durf te springen, m.a.w. Dóé het gewoon.  ⭐ Blijf je rol als ondernemer bevragen, wanneer zit je zelf je impact doel in de weg.  ⭐ Zoek samenwerking op! Dank aan alle deelnemers en de facilitators!
