Any snow or ice that melted during the day could refreeze, creating slick and hazardous conditions on walkways, roads, and bridges. If you must drive, remember to:

🔹 Clean snow and ice off your vehicle before driving.
🔹 Brake gently and steer smoothly.
🔹 Reduce your speed and leave plenty of space between other vehicles.
🔹 Stay alert, especially on bridges.

As the temperatures drop this evening, it's important to remember that our pets feel the cold too.

Follow these tips to keep your furry friends safe and warm:

✔️ If you're cold, they're cold. Shorten time spent outside in low temperatures.
✔️ Salt, ice, and other chemicals can irritate their paws, so wipe their paws clean after walks.
✔️ Provide cozy blankets and beds in warm spots of the house.
✔️ Ensure adequate food and water as pets need more of both when it's cold because keeping warm uses more energy.
✔️ Never leave pets in cars. Cars can act as refrigerators and rapidly chill your pet.

While it’s best to keep your pets indoors, if you have outdoor pets, you must provide a windproof shelter with three solid sides and a solid roof. During cold weather, you must fill the space with towels, blankets, and/or hay to help them stay warm. Additionally, check and replace water daily as it may have frozen.
