Migration from API v3 to API v4 and backward compatibility

HiI am planning to migrate our monitoring system from API v3 to API v4. For the next 1.5 years, until API v3 is deprecated, it will be necessary to support both APIs.Based on my understanding, API v4 is supported from AOS version 6.8 and above. Our infrastructure includes a variety of PCs with different AOS versions, some of which are new (v7.0) and others that are older (v6.5) but still in use. Consequently, we need to continue utilizing API v3 for the older versions.To ensure seamless operation, I intend to implement backward compatibility to maintain both APIs until all PCs are updated, which is not expected to occur in the near future.Initially, I considered checking the AOS version or the supported API versions to determine the appropriate API version to use. Is there a general API call (not specific to any version) that can retrieve the AOS version? Please note that I do not utilize the official SDK and have developed my own implementation tailored to our specific requirements.Cu

Rest API limit for /v3/vms/list

Hi Team, im trying to get the vm details using rest api 3 version,  by using the following payloadcurl -X 'POST'  -uxxx:xx   'https://onwer.com:9440/api/nutanix/v3/vms/list'   -H 'accept: application/json'   -H 'Content-Type: application/json'   -H 'X-Nutanix-Client-Type: ui'   -d '{  "kind": "vm",  "sort_attribute": "string",  "length": 2000,  "sort_order": "ASCENDING",  "offset": 0}'Here, if you see the 2000 length I have specified, but it's giving 1000 values only. Is there any other limit we need to increase ?For the same rest api Also, I'm getting “RangeError: Maximum call stack size exceeded” in the REST API explorer. Any suggestions for this ?

Cluster Maintenance Utilities (CMU) past version 2.0.3

We are in the process of refining our upgrade procedures with LCM 3.1 and reviewing the Upgrade order for a dark site method. We see a line for ‘Upgrade Cluster Maintenance Utilities’. The latest version for CMU appears to be 2.0.3 back in 2020. Is the utility still in use or is this being phased out?

Initially created VM without Guest tools NGT using API as we are using DHCP its taking 1-3 minutes to get IP Address assigned. then i have trying to update the VM with Guest tools in my payload, its failing, Error is internal error. Hello,We are working on provisioning and deploying Cisco Firepower Threat Defense Virtual (FTDv) on Nutanix AHV using an API-based approach. Recurring Daily Cluster Crash – Seeking Advice on Automatic Failover and Service Restarts

Hello everyone,I am currently experiencing a recurring issue with my Nutanix cluster: every day at exactly 9:35 PM, the cluster crashes and then restarts a short time afterward. Once it comes back online, the system automatically initiates “Repairing metadata for node…” tasks on all three nodes.While checking the logs, I noticed the following events:Power on VM after failover recovery Multiple service restarts of acropolis,anduril,aplos,aplosengine,catalog,clusterconfig,delphi,ergon,flow,lazan,minervacvm,uhuraacropolis, anduril, aplos, aplos_engine, catalog, cluster_config, delphi, ergon, flow, lazan, minerva_cvm, uhuraacropolis,anduril,aplos,aplose​ngine,catalog,clusterc​onfig,delphi,ergon,flow,lazan,minervac​vm,uhura across all CVMs. The most recent crashes for these services occurred on January 8, 2025, between 9:31 PM and 9:34 PM.Has anyone encountered a similar behavior or have any suggestions on how to resolve this recurring crash?
