Corem’s Nyköping shopping center is breaking new ground in sustainable building management. Through Myrspoven’s advanced AI, this property isn’t just saving energy – it’s setting a new standard for eco-friendly, high-performance buildings.

In 2019, Corem set ambitious energy goals to support its commitment to sustainability and alignment with the Science-Based Targets initiative. Aiming to halve energy use per square meter by 2030, Corem sought innovative solutions to maximize energy efficiency. This led them to partner with Myrspoven, leveraging their AI technology for transformative energy optimization.

To achieve precise energy management, Myrspoven installed 55 sensors throughout the center to monitor temperature and CO₂ levels, providing real-time data via myPortal. This integration supports Corem’s team in visualizing and adjusting climate controls efficiently.

AI-Powered Climate Optimization: Real-Time Adjustments and Technical Resolutions

Myrspoven’s AI continuously adjusts indoor climate settings by factoring in real-time data, such as weather conditions, energy tariffs, and building’s usage patterns, to maintain energy efficiency and comfort. Every 15 minutes, the system processes 382 data points and fine-tunes 45 climate settings, creating a stable indoor environment as well as energy savings.

During implementation, Myrspoven’s AI detected and helped resolve issues in the heating circuits, which had initially caused uneven temperature distribution. With these adjustments, the AI can now maintain consistent climate control across the shopping center, optimizing heating, cooling, and ventilation functions for maximum efficiency.

Reducing Costs and Emissions for a Sustainable Portfolio

The impact of Myrspoven’s AI integration at the Nyköping center has been significant:

  • 13% reduction in district heating use
  • 23% decrease in electricity consumption (January–July), cutting CO₂ emissions by 29 tons annually
