What happened? Did this just not happen for some reason or what? I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. [[User:EstrellaSuecia|EstrellaSuecia]] ([[User talk:EstrellaSuecia|talk]]) 14:47, 1 September 2020 (UTC)

Revision as of 14:47, 1 September 2020

Conflicted first and third person usage

The usage of "they" in the following paragraphs makes it sound as if someone else is executing the server switch.

They will switch all traffic to the secondary data centre on Tuesday, September 1st 2020.

In the next paragraph, the usage of "we" conflicts this.

Unfortunately, because of some limitations in MediaWiki, all editing must stop while we switch.

It would be nice if we avoid this conflict.

Thank you for noticing it, @Kaartic. I hope you've unified it in your translation.
I'm going to change the source text, but without marking translations as obsolete. Trizek (WMF) (talk) 18:15, 24 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
I hadn't unified it to then to keep the translation consistent with the source. I've fixed it now. -- Kaartic correct me, if i'm wrong 18:41, 24 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

The read the schedule at wikitech.wikimedia.org link in the last paragraph links to wikitech:Switch_Datacenter#Schedule_for_2018_switch which only has a schedule for the 2018 switch. Could someone update that page to have an up-to-date schedule or point the link to somewhere where that can be seen. Thanks. Majavah talk/contribs/sul 08:48, 25 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Majavah, I'm waiting for the update from the Operations team. Updating this link will be invisible for translators. Trizek (WMF) (talk) 13:19, 25 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Done! Trizek (WMF) (talk) 18:42, 25 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Somehow all mass messages had the wrong year (example, another). Majavah talk/contribs/sul 14:31, 26 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
This was not supposed to happen, apparently we have an issue with the replication of these changes. However, the link goes to the right page and the important information is at the top of it. Trizek (WMF) (talk) 15:01, 26 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
