Dear Friends,

What a remarkable year! Thanks to the generosity of our food and financial donors, hardworking “second seat” volunteers and staff, and community partners, Second Servings was able to provide over 200,000 struggling Houstonians with access to nutritious food that would otherwise have gone to waste. When we began operations, I never could have imagined that in 8 years, we would have delivered $82 million worth of food!
 
This year we added a 6^th refrigerated van and 4 new food rescue drivers, extended operations to Saturdays, and expanded our large network with 25 new food donors and 15 new nonprofit sites. Our popular “PopUp Grocery Store” program was enhanced by 250 dedicated volunteers from the “Food and Faith Collaborative” and numerous corporate sponsors.
