Ņemot vērā spraigās diskusijas medijos gan par pašu karu, gan par ASV prezidenta sarunām ar Krievijas diktatoru Vladimiru Putinu, arī šīs nedēļas Latvijas Radio raidījumā "(ne)Diplomātisko pusdienas" paskatīsimies uz karu Ukrainā. The Transatlantic Periscope is an interactive and dynamic online tool that provides users with analyses, data visualizations, multimedia content and in-depth briefings to cultivate a broader and deeper understanding of the current and recent historical trends defining the relationship between the United States and the European Union’s member countries and the United Kingdom. 🔗 The launch discussion will explore how U.S. President Donald Trump's close ties with key tech leaders - such as Elon Musk (X), Mark Zuckerberg (Meta), and Shou Zi Chew (TikTok) - influence the portrayal of U.S. foreign policy on social media. 🇯🇵 🇱🇻 On 12th February, the LIIA had the privilege of hosting a distinguished delegation from the Japan Institute of International Affairs. The meeting focused on the evolving geopolitical dynamics linking the Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific regions. During the visit, we explored a range of critical security challenges, including cybersecurity threats, foreign information manipulations and interference, the complexities of grey zone conflicts, and the vulnerabilities of undersea infrastructure to sabotage.
