Among the 1.5 million master’s students in the EU in 2022, 905 678 were women, representing 58.6% of the total. 👩🎓📖 🔹At doctoral level, this share was 48.5% of a total of 99 204 doctorate students. Highest share of women in doctoral studies in: 🇱🇻 Latvia (59.6%) 🇨🇾 Cyprus (58.0%) 🇱🇹 Lithuania (57.4%) Lowest in: 🇱🇺 Luxembourg (42.3%) 🇦🇹 Austria (43.4%) 🇨🇿 Czechia (44.1%) 🎓At master’s level, women represented the majority of students in all EU countries. In 2022, in most EU countries, large enterprises accounted for the majority of services exported outside the EU. Largest shares in: 🇫🇮 Finland (74%) 🇩🇪 Germany (72%) 🇸🇰 Slovakia (70%) Small enterprises led exports most prominently in 🇲🇹 Malta (86%), 🇪🇪 Estonia (59%) and 🇱🇺 Luxembourg (49%). MEDSTAT V organised a seminar on "Raising Awareness on Gender Issues Using Gender Statistics” 📢 This seminar brought together gender experts and 12 representatives from MEDSTAT V partner countries to discuss best practices and challenges in effectively communicating gender statistics to raise awareness and drive policy change. Key sessions included: 🔹Principles of gender mainstreaming: insights into gender mainstreaming, its implications and how to integrate gender perspectives into policies and programmes 🔹Discussions on gender pay gaps, educational attainment and women's representation in STEM fields 🔹Analysis of health indicators, representation in decision-making and the impact of gender-based violence 🔹Country presentations on national practices and interactive group exercises This seminar was an important step towards the creation of a comprehensive gender awareness guide using gender statistics to be developed during the project. 📊 . . . #MEDSTATV #EU #Eurostat #Statistics #StatisticalCooperation #Data #GenderStatistics
