Productive visit to the EIB group office in Amsterdam last week to catch up with key players in the 🇳🇱 ecosystem - with Marjut Falkstedt, Peter Coveliers, Daragh Brown and Norbert Fillekes. ✔️ On day 1 we met with the Ministerie van Financiën and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and participated in an Invest-NL fireside chat with staff where our CE, Marjut Falkstedt , discussed the role of the EIF in the EU financing landscape and shared lessons learned for fast growing institutions. ✔️ On day 2, we engaged with Qredits, Rubio Impact Ventures, EQT Life Sciences, the Nederlandse Vereniging van Participatiemaatschappijen (NVP), Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij (BOM) and EFFECT Photonics. Topics discussed included the challenges of #smefinance in the Netherlands, the value of long-term partnerships and the support needed for the #lifesciences ecosystem. We remain committed to ensuring access to finance for innovative companies in the Netherlands and Europe.

#SMEs and infrastructure projects play a key role in achieving #climate neutrality in Europe by 2050 🌱 But their climate journey relies on the availability of green financing. Together with our intermediaries, we're making this finance available. On the equity side, we are helping underserved markets by supporting new funds in the #energy, #agrifood, circular and #blueeconomy sectors. We are also backing #climate infrastructure funds, especially in renewable energy and energy efficiency, but also in other areas such as circular economy, urban development, clean mobility, and digital infrastructure. Closing an insightful week at #WebSummit in Lisbon diving into #venturecapital market trends and predictions for 2025, exploring the role of the EIF in supporting Europe’s high-tech and startup sectors and sharing how to access our financing. New investments in Portugal were announced in a joint press conference with the Minister of Economy, Pedro Reis and the EC representative, António Vicente 🇵🇹 The EIF is committing €90 million in three Portuguese venture capital funds to accelerate the growth of #deeptech and #cybersecurity startup companies in the country.
