Greg joined Lightspeed in June of 2022, bringing years of experience working on legal issues facing the tech industry to Lightspeed’s legal team.
During his first summer in law school, at the University of Texas in Austin, Greg was a summer intern for Google, introducing him to the tech industry and giving his career a direction he has followed ever since.
“It was exciting supporting the launch of new businesses and getting a behind-the-scenes look at the future. I decided that summer I wanted to spend my career supporting technology companies.”
Greg joined the Technology Companies practice at Goodwin, where he counseled venture investors and startups through the corporate lifecycle, “from formation to fundraising through acquisition or IPO and beyond. I loved playing a role in helping cutting edge technologies get funded and come to market.”
From there Greg joined AWS, supporting their commercial sales team, and moving to Los Angeles in the process. What drew Greg to Lightspeed was the chance to apply his creativity and problem solving skills to the fast-moving, world-changing startups that the firm invests in.
Helping founders succeed is also something of a family business: “Both of my grandfathers were entrepreneurs. Hearing stories of the work they put into their businesses and the sacrifices they made inform the way I view Lightspeed’s role supporting founders and how I approach my role as a lawyer.”
In his free time, Greg loves spending time with his family or catching live music at the Hollywood Bowl or Greek Theater (both “worth sitting in LA traffic for).
