Best horror anthology game I’ve played!
I’m a huge fan of horror anthologies, and Horror Games To Play In The Dark definitely delivered. It features 9 unique episodes, and each one gets crazier than the last. I won’t spoil anything, but if you love horror experiences that keep you guessing, I highly recommend picking this up!
Episode Ratings & Thoughts:
Cabin – 7.5/10
The enemy model here is amazing—feels like it came straight out of a Lovecraftian nightmare.
-------
Antler – 7.9/10
The ending totally caught me off guard. I was expecting something else, but it went wild in the best way. Also, it's the longest episode in the game.
-------
Grandpa’s Boardgame – 8/10
That plot twist at the end? Crazy. It ends on a cliffhanger and honestly could be expanded into a full standalone game.
-------
Huldufolk – 7/10
Not as intense as the others, but I liked it. The Huldufolk reminded me a lot of the Duwende from Philippine folklore.
-------
Unknown Connection – 7.3/10
Short, simple, and straight to the point. The ending still managed to surprise me though!
-------
Luggage – 8.2/10
I thought it would be a typical main-character-vs-enemy episode, but nope—I was so wrong in the best way.
-------
Abducked – 7.4/10
Just a chill duck game. I mean… nothing scary about ducks, right?
-------
El Masmelo – 7.6/10
Remember my expectations from the Antler episode? This one did a great job living up to them. No disappointment here!
-------
Bullied – 9/10
A true horror experience. Easily one of the best episodes in the game for me. It hit hard, especially because I’ve been through something similar in real life.
-------
Overall Score: 9/10
This anthology was an emotional rollercoaster with a wide range of tones, scares, and surprises. Whether you're in it for disturbing psychological themes or bizarre horror concepts, there’s something here for every horror fan. Can’t wait to see more from the devs! Keep up the amazing work, I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for future releases! ^_^
Pisonet is a well-crafted short Filipino horror experience that blends unsettling supernatural elements with a deeply tragic narrative—one that, when stripped of its horror tropes, reflects real-life struggles that many people face. It's a concept that hits close to home, and the execution is both creative and impactful.
I played the first version of the game when it initially launched, but I encountered bugs that kept me from finishing it. After waiting for a more polished and stable release, I’m glad to say the experience now feels smooth and complete. The atmosphere is tense, the scares are effective, and the pacing is just right for a short horror title.
I’d give Pisonet a 7.8 out of 10 coin slot machines.
Well done, TierTierra Interactive, keep up the great work! Looking forward to what you make next.
I was the first to play the early version of this game, and now experiencing the final Steam release is amazing! There have been so many changes and improvements since the first build. I was on the edge of my seat during every loop, even though I already knew what to do, the jump scares and sound design felt completely new. Everything was so unsettling in the best way, and it still got me a few times.
If I had to point out one issue, it would be that some of the dark areas might be too dark. It was fine for me, but I can imagine players with weaker eyesight having a harder time navigating certain parts.
Also, I absolutely loved the reference/easter egg to one of my own games, super cool touch!
Thank you, BluWraith, for all the effort you poured into this. I can’t wait to see what you make next! :D
I’m giving Apartment 22 a solid 8.5 out of 10 Lasagnas—and yes, there’s a reason why it’s lasagnas. ;)
Silent Still 2 has officially taken the top spot for me in your lineup, surpassing even Thin Threads. The game delivers a unique and gripping take on sleep paralysis, and that twist at the end genuinely caught me off guard in the best way possible. I honestly didn’t think it could top the first Silent Still, but it absolutely did.
There are a few minor hiccups here and there (a volume and sensitivity option would definitely be a welcome addition, as many players have requested), but no game is perfect. Overall, it’s a fantastic experience!
I won’t spoil anything, but the ending left me speechless. I also noticed the subtle nod to one of my recent games Don't Sleep, and I really appreciated that. Honestly, the story of Silent Still 2 feels like it could fit right into the universe I’m currently building, which made it feel even more special to me.
Thanks again for letting me playtest this. I’m always excited to see what you guys come up with next. Keep doing what you do, more power to you!
I'd give Silent Still 2 a 9.5 out of 10!
I made this game to challenge myself, to see if I could break my personal record from when I developed DOT in just one day and I think I did a pretty good job.
