I am contemplating doing the spooktober visual novel jam, but haven't been able to find an artist to work with. The game I am planning would use 3D PSX style environments, but as of now I have no character art, either 3D or 2D.

The environment assets I plan to use are by pizza doggy. Very retro PSX style. If you think you can make character art that might fit with a retro/PSX look message me on discord @saitointeractive.

if you haven't found a partner/team dm me @saitointeractive. I've done some jams, but never made a VN game before so sort of new as you are.

I am pretty new to the visual novel genre of games, but like experimenting with jams and trying to create different styles of gameplay.

If you're an artist with an idea for a game or even if you don't dm me on discord @saitointeractive. Send me some examples of your art style. 2D, 3D, whatever I am open to working with any style.

I'm a dev/programmer currently working in Unreal Engine 5. I'm looking for an artist to collaborate with on a project of some kind, I have a few ideas, but they're basically impossible without the help of an artist. Specifically if a 3D artist, someone who can animate characters they create. I typically work on retro/PSX style games so the quality of animation doesn't have to be professional by any stretch. I do some low poly modeling, but texturing and animation are beyond my skills currently.

Currently I am prototyping a short first person exploration based horror game using PizzaDoggy's environment assets. But I am open to any ideas or projects as long as they are small and limited.

Only thing missing is a walk animation?

Yeah, we planned on more enemies. 3 versions of the big guys with different weapon types, but as usual no time. The level I also had obstacles on the checklist where stuff like pillars and things would change between rounds, again no time.

oh I see what you mean, since they pop up instantly they’re easy to click on since you’re clicking the attack button.

The attack button can be held. Should’ve put that in the controls section.

when you say clicking powerups do you mean the level up upgrades where you select one of three or the ones that spawn on the ground?

I added the controller input last minute since it’s easy in unreal, but forgot to implement it controlling UI or at least the mouse with right stick or something.

I had to add the countdown since I condensed the game a lot. The rounds were taking too long and the player wasn’t leveling up fast enough to deal with the increasing enemies. The leveling ended up so frequent I had to put a countdown.

Couldn't find the enemy for a while and once you do not enough ammo to defeat them.
Nice retro look. The walk animation is good.

Is this compatibly with 5.6 and are you planning on releasing an update for the pack?

These look great, can tell inspired by Into the Breach. Only thing missing are some enemies.

Do you ever participate in sales here or on the unreal market?

thanks. Sorry, you just have a lot of packs so was sort of confused. I’m probably just going to buy your humble bundle to support and get all your stuff.

Are these extra textures or contained in your other asset packs?

For the humble bundle does that include all of your assets? Would it include future updates you add?

2D or 3D. Only requirement is animation if you want to do anything with characters.

open to anything even purely UI based stuff like card games, etc. dm me any idea or genre you want to make art for I like to try new styles I haven’t done before.

I’m a Unity dev who can also do some low poly/ PS1 style modeling of objects/environment. Looking for a 3D artist who also does low poly. Characters, texturing  and animation are not skills I currently have.

I’m interested in doing this jam (https://itch.io/jam/7drl-challenge-2025) and looking for an artist to team up with. I’d like to try to make another game in 3D. Preferably a low poly artist as I could theoretically help out, but I’m limited skill wise to low poly objects.

Done a few jams including this one before. Would like to do something 3D, perhaps a more exploration based roguelike style game.

Love the pack. One thing that I feel is missing is a bicycle, perhaps one that fits with an existing character sprite frame to look like they're sitting. Unless I'm dumb and just missing it. Still a massive asset pack.

Looking for any 3D artists that can also do a bit of animation. Style would be low poly, PSX sort of, since that's about all I can help out with. I just cant texture or animate so need some help.

Basic idea for the game is: Man drives car to Vegas and weird stuff happens.

I'm looking for an artist to work with. Have a few mediocre game jam games on my profile.

Added you on discord

Looking to team up with a 3D artist, preferably someone who can do low poly PS1/PSX style texturing and more importantly can animate.

I'm a Unity dev/programmer. I also can do some low poly modeling, but texturing I'm not so good at. Also very little experience animating outside of mixamo.

Very chill dev, just for fun and to experiment so no stress. I don't take jams too serious like some people, if the game doesn't work out oh well.

For this jam, but I don't plan to work on it the full 40 days so no need to worry about committing to a month long project.  https://itch.io/jam/themed-horror-game-jam-19

Basic idea is a little adventure/exploration game loosely based off a Lovecraft story that fits one of the themes.

Programmer/dev here. Have basic idea for a game, but requires a pixel artist that can also animate their sprites.

Open to 3D or 2D have working with both.

Curious about this genre, but never attempted to make anything like it. I've done some low poly modeling, but never really figured out how to texture very well. I have a semblance of an idea for a "game", but I don't believe I can create the art assets needed, granted they only need to be very low poly. Its the texturing that's difficult.

An example of the sort of style I've been trying to figure out how to texture which might work for a creepy exploration style game https://sketchfab.com/wersaus33

discord @saitointeractive

Some of it is using this renderer https://github.com/pastasfuture/com.hauntedpsx.render-pipelines.psx. A lot is also just rendering the game at a low resolution. You can get a pretty good PSX look just by using low res textures on flat surfaces. The walls are just unity cubes with a textured scaled down in gimp. Then use a render texture to lower the game resolution to something resembling the PSX.

Nice addition to my collection of blender texture palettes I've been using. Sometimes I want a set color palette and others more options so the gradients here are great.

Thanks. I haven't used midjourney much since they removed the free plan.

Can you describe the prompts and/or process you used to get this art style out of midjourney or did you downsample them afterwards to get the pixel art look?

Unity dev/programmer and a composer looking for a 3D artist/animator. Will likely be using some premade assets, but not everything is available so an artist who can make/animate characters would be great to team up with. Mixamo is great, but only works for humanoid characters. Game probably will be low poly/PSX aesthetic due to free assets available to use.

Like low poly look, but can't aim up so the flying enemies can't be shot unless you back up far enough. Character also blocks the reticle.

Concept is fun, but I think once you figure out you can keep the fire on one side and keep plant next to fire, then water over and over I'm not sure you can lose unless a ton of fire spawns in a row randomly which didn't happen for me.

Maybe having a point goal, then reload level and higher point goal would be better vs potential endless.

This would be a fun perpetual game on my Nokia 8210!

Was a little confused on the results of combining the flowers, but potential for a fast paced puzzle game.

LOL, the going back and forth was why I had the flowers start spawning at different sizes, but I made the hitboxes too large so it didn't really matter and you can still basically just go back and forth.

Yeah its hard to tell since with my headphones it sounded normal. I had similar issue with another game where my monitor had higher contrast than what most people were playing on so the game was dark for everyone but me. I tried it on my laptop and it was indeed waaaaay too dark even if it was supposed to be a horror game. Lesson is to always have someone else try the game first on different hardware than yours.
