Arthur Murray Blythe (Los Angeles, 5 luglio 1940 – Lancaster, 27 marzo 2017) è stato un compositore e sassofonista statunitense.

Biografia

Inizia a suonare il sassofono all'età di nove anni. A New York collabora con Gil Evans, Jack DeJohnette, Chico Hamilton, Lester Bowie e McCoy Tyner. Ha fatto parte dei progetti The Leaders e World Saxophone Quartet. Blythe viene considerato musicista più ortodosso tra quelli nell’epoca del post-free.
