Our motorways have peculiarities that make them completely different from those of other large European countries: - they are the oldest: at the end of the Seventies, 85% of the current Italian motorways had already been built; - they have 4 times the number of bridges than the continental average; - it's a complex territory (only 23% of Italy is flat) and exposed to widespread phenomena of instability; - every day 5 million vehicles enter the highway system Our infrastructures therefore require constant monitoring and demanding regenerative maintenance. Research, innovation and education in a heart of discussion on the future of the Single Market! Today, during the European Council, Enrico Letta presented his report "Much more then a Single Market". The report aims to contribute to the reflection on the future of the Single Market with concrete proposals. It presents practical policy recommendations and explores technical aspects across Six Chapters "The first, “A 5th Freedom to enhance research, innovation, and education in the Single Market”, proposes the introduction of a “fifth freedom” - focusing on research, innovation, knowledge and education - to enhance the Single Market’s innovation capabilities within the new global landscape." The aim is to remove barriers in the sharing of knowledge and mobility of researchers, “embedding R&I drivers at the core of the single market”. I fondamenti storico-filosofici delle discipline statistico-probabilistiche This wonderful book shows clearly the different philosophical positions of interpreting probability in a way or in another. The historical context shades light on it and explains how probability and statistics are learnt in today's classrooms and how it should be better done. Paradigmatic is the concept of stochastic dependence, a revolutionary idea born in the same papers Planck introduced another revolutionary idea, the quantum. Reading this book you are forced to think of different aspects of probability, ontic vs epistemic, objective vs subjective and more.
