Intel's Distributed Asynchronous Object Storage (DAOS) is smashing IO500 benchmarks left and right. Yet, it's flying under most radars. Why? • Originally built for Intel's Optane memory (RIP) • Young but mighty: From v0.1 in 2016 to v2.6 now • Kicking other systems off the top spots in performance It's for you if you want storage that: • Scales like object storage? • Performs like local NVMe? • Flexes between file, block, and object interfaces? • Plays nice with Hadoop and Spark? DAOS does it all. And it's OpenSource! Are you... Still skeptical?
