Do you also feel like a lot has happened in geothermal this year although we're just two months in?? Not that we're complaining, of course. 😁 This week, we have updates on geothermal projects, some important publications, and a major new #partnership: 🤝 Iceland Drilling Company Ltd and Elemental Energies have announced a joint venture, offering their combines #drilling and subsurface expertise to the global geothermal market 📑 Bundesverband Geothermie e.V. has published the latest map of deep geothermal projects in Germany, showing a healthy project pipeline and a huge increase in the number of projects in the planning phase. 📙 The 2nd edition of the Geothermal Power Generation textbook has been published, which is a very good resource on geothermal power history, technologies, and case studies. 👉 The EPC contract for Unit 2 of the Muara Laboh geothermal power plant in Sumatra, Indonesia has been awarded, making progress towards a 2027 COD target for the 80-MW facility. 💸 The Tu Deh-Kah Geothermal project has received fresh funding from Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), which will go towards the drilling of new wells. ✈️ Finally, we reported on the progress of the geothermal HVAC project in the Leh Airport, which will be the biggest geothermal project of such nature in India. We love a good weekly wrap-up that encompasses a wide range of geothermal applications and regions. Want to learn more?
