Latur municipal commissioner airlifted to Mumbai with bullet injury, condition critical
According to reports, Latur municipal commissioner Babasaheb Manohare shot himself at his official residence.

Latur municipal commissioner Babasaheb Manohare was airlifted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai Monday evening in critical condition after he allegedly shot himself.
As per the information available, Manohare, 48, fired three bullets from his revolver, of which one went through his head. Manohare was admitted to the local Sahyadri Hospital, where he was operated upon in the early hours of Sunday.
Sahyadri Hospital’s Dr Hanumant Kinikar told the Marathi newspaper Loksatta that the condition of the Latur commissioner was serious.
Reports said Manohare shot himself at his official residence near the MIDC area of Latur, and his wife and two teenage children were present in the house when he locked himself in his bedroom and allegedly shot himself. The gun belonged to him for which he had a licence.
According to reports, no suicide note was recovered from him, and the real cause behind the shooting is yet to be clear.
Manohare, who also served as the municipal commissioner of Nanded and Jalna, spearheaded the Smart City project in Latur.
