Sekolah yang berlokasi di Jalan Lapangan Kalisasak No.9 Mangkang Wetan Tugu Kota Semarang, dimana siswa-siswa dan guru-guru melaksanakan daring dengan whats app group dan google classroom. Sebanyak 60 % guru di SMP Muhammadiyah 9 menggunakan whatsapp dan google classroom untuk melaksanakan pembelajaran belum mengaplikasikan media dan pendekatan yang memotivasi dan menunjang autonomous learning siswa. Guru belum memiliki kemampuan memodifikasi pembelajaran online berbasis blended learning dengan media android sederhana. Hampir 55 % siswa bosan mengikuti pembelajaran karena tidak bertemu tatap muka secara langsung. This research aimed to know the application of blended learning which collaborated with the integ... more This research aimed to know the application of blended learning which collaborated with the integration of face to face and online learning to foster students‘ writing performance through innovative information and communication technology. The subject of this research was the third semester of English Department of University of Muhammadiyah Semarang. It employed an action research using two cycles and four steps to analyze the application of blended learning model on students‘ writing performance. The data was analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis. The result showed that there was an improvement on students‘ writing achievement. The application of blended learning model also can improve the effectiveness and efficiencies in fostering students‘ writing performance. Besides, it showed that blended learning was an effective model which could be applied not only in the classroom but also outside the classroom. It assisted the students to enrich their knowledge especially in writing genre-based text. They can enjoy the learning activities using blended learning especially through online learning, so it can reduce the lecturing time. Instilling multicultural values, tolerance and pluralism as well as building the character of non-Muslim students. the paradigm of social constructivism used, with a qualitative approach, as well as the type of case study research used in this study. The results of the study showed that non-Muslim students already had good religious, honest (sidq) attitudes (jihad), discipline, consistency (istiqomah), and tolerance (tassamuh) after receiving Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan learning which was integrated with values. Islamic values and understanding of kemuhammadiyahan. Another acceptance is that they are enthusiastic and happy during learning and when doing assignments. Self-confidence in understanding Islamic teachings even though they are non-Muslims and mutual respect between one student and another.

Adapun permasalahan penelitian ini adalah implikasi apa saja yang terdapat pada iklan di majalah Time dan bagaimana implikasi khusus dan umum yang digunakan dalam iklan di majalah tersebut. Penelitian ini mengaplikasikan data kuantitatif dan kualitatif yang difokuskan pada fungsi ekspresi kebahasaan dan membahas isi yang ditemukan dalam iklan pada majalah Time. Analisis data menggunakan klasifikasi Grice dengan hasil penelitian yakni ada sebanyak 26 slogan iklan yang termasuk dalam implikasi umum dan 34 slogan iklan yang termasuk dalm implikasi khusus. Dari jumlah data yang ditemukan, ada perbedaan persentase sebanyak 56.67% untuk hasil implikasi khusus dan 43.33% untuk hasil implikasi umum. Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa majalah Times menggunakan slogan iklan sebanyak 56.67% bermakna implikasi khusus. Penelitian ini diharapkan menambah informasi kepada peneliti maupun mahasiswa bahasa Inggris untuk menambah pengetahuan tentang prakmatik sehingga dapat menyusun penelitian lanjutan.

Berbagai respon dapat ditemui di kelas X IPS 3 terkait masalah tersebut salah satunya adalah sulit berkonsentrasi saat belajar bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor kesukaran belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran bahasa Inggris. Penelitian dilakukan di SMA N 15 Semarang dengan melibatkan 36 siswa sebagai subjek. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan instrumen angket, observasi, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa subjek penelitian mengalami kesulitan belajar bahasa Inggris yang beragam, seperti kurang dukungan dari lingkungan, tidak memiliki banyak waktu untuk berlatih, malas untuk belajar bahasa Inggris, dan suasana kelas yang tidak mendukung. Due to the pandemic situation, there is a shift in the scientific writing learning process. The p... more Due to the pandemic situation, there is a shift in the scientific writing learning process. The process changes from offline to online, where lecturers and students must be more active and involved in the learning process through website tutorials with Microsoft Teams application synchronously and asynchronously through LMS UT. However, such a learning process also experiences problems both with wifi or the internet and the involvement and motivation of students in following it. To complete asynchronously using LMS UT, the research team focused on developing online learning media based on Task-based Language Teaching and android video. This study aims to create online learning media based on Task-Based Language Teaching and android video on writing material for Classroom Action Research to improve understanding and writing Classroom Action Research. The subjects of this research are 3rd-semester students at the Open University. The research method is the development method using a modified 4-D model of instructional development of Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semmel (4-D model). The process of data collection is done by interview, observation, and filling out a questionnaire. The results of developing online learning media based on Task-Based Language Teaching and android video are suitable for the hybrid writing learning process. Students can be communicative in the web tutorial process. Student learning outcomes are already above the average indicator of 75% through the developed learning media. In addition, students responded positively in their involvement in the learning process using Task-Based Language Teaching-based media and android video.

This paper contains genre analysis of Move-step structure results on review texts written by thir... more This paper contains genre analysis of Move-step structure results on review texts written by third semester students of English Education in Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang. This study also examined third semester students’ critical thinking perception. The aims of this research are to found what are the move-step structure that lies in students' review texts and students’ critical thinking perception. Qualitative method is used as the research approach. Totally 33 review texts are analyzed. These review texts analyzed by using move-step structure. The result revealed that there are 3 moves found. There are Move 1 in the introduction paragraph. Then Move to via Step 1, Step 2, and Step 3 that found in the interpretative recount. The last move is Move 3 via Step 1 which is found in the evaluation and Move 3 via Step 2 found in the evaluative summation. The result showed 434 moves found from 33 texts. The Move that mostly found were Move 2 via Step 1 which resumed what was the artwork/thing that being reviewed. This research also figured out the perception of critical thinking from the students dealing with their review text writing products. Interview and questionnaire are used to unveil the critical thinking perception of the students. Most of the students still need guidance from their lecturer to develop their writing skills to be more precise.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tipe bahasa yang digunakan oleh mahasiswa magang dala... more Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tipe bahasa yang digunakan oleh mahasiswa magang dalam interaksi kelas berdasarkan teori FIACS (1970) Flanders Interaction Analysis Categories System.Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah tiga mahasiswa magang di SMA Negeri 9 Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskripsi kualitatif yang dinamakan analisis interaksi dan fokus pada tipe bahasa yang digunakan mahasiswa magang dalam interaksi kelas untuk dianalisis. Merekam video dalam proses pembelajaran di dalam kelas menggunakan teori FIACS (1970) Flanders Interaction Analysis Category System sebagai instrumen untuk memperoleh data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tipe bahasa yang digunakan mahasiswa magang yaitu accepting feeling (5%-7%), asking questions (40%-50%), giving direction (8%-19%), lecturing (11%-30%), criticizing or justifying authority (2%-4%), accepting or using ideas of students (1%-4%), and praising or encouragement (3%-13%). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tipe yang dominan yang digunakan oleh tiga mahasiswa magang yang terjadi dalam interaksi kelas adalah asking question dengan persentase lebih dari 40%. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa asking question memberikan dampak positif untuk keaktifan dan partisipasi siswa dalam proses pembelajaran.

Merdeka Belajar demands that the learning process be carried out in hybrid learning because sever... more Merdeka Belajar demands that the learning process be carried out in hybrid learning because several students attended lectures from outside the campus. Conditions like this occurred in the English Language Education Study Program, Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang, where not all courses were converted, so students were required to attend lectures on their own and off campus, especially in genre-based writing and writing research courses. Fifteen students were joining online, and 22 were joining face-to-face. Therefore, the researchers want to focus on research describing student perspectives in learning to write through a hybrid and using a genre-based approach. The research method was a mixed method design using a questionnaire and observation as the instrument. This study's results indicated a positive response to implementing hybrid learning with a genre-based approach, especially in learning to write. All in all, hybrid learning and genre-based approaches are approaches and models in the learning process that are flexible and follow the situations and conditions in the classroom.
