The aim of this paper is to provide a comprehensive overview of the history and evolution of one ... more The aim of this paper is to provide a comprehensive overview of the history and evolution of one of Sibiu’s most important streets. It explores key aspects such as the development of the street orientation, toponymy, key landmarks, and memorial monuments located along the boulevard. The article is structured chronologically, following the street’s stages of development, with each newly erected or vanished building being mentioned in relation to the time it first emerges in the cartographic sources that were consulted. After a detailed depiction on the street’s evolution through the lens of its buildings, the article examines, in a concise manner, the transformation of the street infrastructure over time, as well as the socio-economic profile of the individuals who frequented the avenue. The final parts of the paper highlight a significant number of Romanian cultural and political figures who, at various points in time, resided–either temporarily or permanently–on Victoriei Boulevard.
