Have you ever wondered why a Digital Arrest victim didn't disconnect the call and ended the ordeal? Fear psychosis. Have you ever been stalked where you keep on blocking the numbers and they persistently keep on calling from different numbers until you are so scared that they might actually track you down to your place? Same fear. If you had gone through each case, every single time , the victims initially thought it was a fraud , but the scamsters are so convincing , they ultimately gave in to the fear. They were intimated because they were blamed for money laundering, their numbers used for human trafficking, illegal parcels and what not. Wondered why couldn't they tell that I will talk to my lawyer and police because I am not aware of it? Because the common man don't know how the law enforcing officers work nor are they aware of the rules and regulations. They only know that if a policeman is calling up , then there is something wrong. And nobody wants to get dragged into years of legality and so they try the easiest path to get out of it . Result: They are losing in lakhs and crores.! If you had noticed the pattern , the victims had lost from 70 lakhs to 70 crores in days of digital arrest. That means the criminal knows whom to target! How? That's the question to be asked. If such a huge amount is getting transferred the banks should be alert and start tracking immediately the accounts to which the money is flowing. It can be a false one but it can still trigger at least the right amount of red alerts everywhere. We don't see the banks doing that. The victims are so parallelized by fear that they don't even call for help. As for the scamsters , that is power, absolute power by instilling fear in their victims. Most of them come from very low strata of society with almost no education. Imagine the power they experience of holding someone to fear from a remote location just over a call! In some cases they had even made the victim strip in the name of narcotics search! That , apart from the money they get! To counter these frauds , the only way is that you have to be self confident to ask them questions, know the laws, at least be aware and also have a basic knowledge of how the law enforcement agencies work. After staying in hospital (for last few days) to attend some personal emergency, few things I realised again: Whatever level of #Digitalisation and #IntelligenceBuilding we all in #TechnologyField may claim to have achieved as part of #DigitalIndia #MakeInIndia #IndiaAI etc., few things cannot be digitalised here even in next 5 years (unless a forced bill like one created by #KarnatakaOnEmployment get passed): E.g. * #ABHA (#AyushmanBharat Digital Mission) was launched on 27th Sept 2021 but still finding health records of any patient / citizen of the country (via #ABHAID) is going to be hard for the #GovernmentOfIndia / #NationalHealthAuthority https://lnkd.in/gmQ-5GqT * Government even has been #rewarding Hospitals, Clinics, Diagnostic Labs etc. if they adopt technology quickly (and push health-records back into ABHA servers) but folks just didn't want to do it - for both reasonable reasons (operational efficiency, bandwidth, priority for themselves and their business) as well as wrong intentions (e.g. fear of being penalised just in case they commit any mistake during treatment / testing, etc. or do redundant test / treatment / surgery etc. w/o a need etc.) * But on top of it, there is also one more practical problem at ground level (nurses, cleaning staff, duty doctors, etc. etc.) - the # of pages of documentation and book-keeping they do is enormous. For a single patient admitted in IPD, they need to maintain anywhere b/w 50-100 page records and filling that up and updating it on daily basis at a speed, is a "real pain" but it's a "very important part of treatment". * Expecting each non-tech-savvy nurse or staff (who may be taking care of anywhere between 5 to 20 beds and context switching quickly based on need / emergency) to fill it in a tablet / mobile / etc. may be too much of an ask. (While countries like US / UAE may be fully digital w.r.t HealthRecords today). * But the data these nursing staffs collect on each day on those papers is so critical from healthcare point of view, if a patient needs to be diagnosed / analysed / treated properly, faster and at min cost and if preventive measures need to be taken (for detecting and treating his/her and even others' future ailments) by analysing health-patterns (in the world of #AI / #ML etc.). Would have helped if #GovernmentOfIndia standardises these #HealthSoftwares and then gives & trains institutions (Hospitals, Clinics, Diagnostic Labs etc.) for #FREE and mandates them to migrate existing records to these systems in within next 6 months, else #CancelLicenses? Of course, Marketing / Sales / Service / Revenue numbers are separate from HealthCareRecords, hence institutions would maintain their business privacies. What govt. is asking for is just "data" which in a country like India can solve so many critical problems and may also be the source of tremendous growth in GDP by paving ways to newer avenues & businesses. The politicians are busy counting votes, businesses are busy counting notes and the citizens are living in bliss having resigned themselves to their fate. The annual ritual of chest beating in the media will peak in the first week of Nov along with AQI and then subside. The article points to a good report by CSE on NCAP which I plan to study later. The last few days, I was catching up on the news about the Hinduja family being sentenced over their treatment of their servant(s). Some thoughts come to mind: I do not think this mistreatment and disregard for another human being is restricted to the privileged only. What I have come across includes: * The salary we give. * The treatment, such as segregation of quarters/food/utensils. * The unpaid/paid leaves they take. * Weekly off (our maid also works 7 days! After 3-4 years of argument, we now agree that he/she should get additional pay for the 7th day if they work). * The number of unreported molestation and abuse cases. * Benefits like health/basic subsistence savings. * How many festivals they still work (giving them compensatory off is what most of us do… would we do the same in our jobs?). Forget about rights. Most of these fellow human beings are just a medical procedure/social obligation away from abject poverty. The government can step in with basic salary and mandatory benefits, but we are the problem, and part of the solution has to come from us……

In today's world this seems to be more relevant in terms of three basic needs rather than "Roti", "Kapda" Aur "Makan". With 5,97,608 inhabited villages out of 6, 64,369 as per 2019 Census in India, they are already contributing significantly towards the economic growth of India. Lessons can be learnt, unlearned and relearned at any place and any time . This is all about how we perceive, interpret and co-relate. It was a lazy Sunday afternoon and wanted to cook something. Realised my pepper crusher is empty. A ready made black pepper powder was available. I thought for a second to use that and I will refill the crusher later on. On the other hand my instinct stopped me who knows next time I will be in more rush and i have refilled and used the Crusher. Tackle the difficult task first as tackling difficult task in difficult situation will not be ideal.

If, in broad daylight, this individual was able to assault two women merely for canceling a ride due to an issue, one can only imagine the potential dangers he could pose in more secluded settings. *Bangalore City Police*, it is imperative that strict and decisive action be taken against this autorickshaw driver. His actions not only endanger individuals but also tarnish the city's reputation. Ola Support, it is crucial to address whether thorough background checks and character verifications are conducted before hiring drivers. It is essential that stringent measures are implemented to prevent such incidents and ensure the safety of all passengers.

#RealConversations #NotWrittenWithAI They had been in the war room for over two days. The company was responding to a large outsourcing RFP by a top pharma. I was flown in to Gurgaon to help the bid team with domain expertise (whatever little I had gathered until then). The bid team was led by a senior leader. As I joined a bit late (I think late afternoon on day three), I spent a couple of hours to network and find out how we were approaching and building the proposal. I came to understand that apart from talking about our capabilities (services and product suite), the proposal needed to delve into how our product suite was better compared to the pharma company's incumbent vendor. The vendor's and our product suite had four modules that went head-to-head and differentiation needed to be articulated. There was an interim review the next day. The proposal was due on day 12, so we had about a week, but anyone who has worked on such bids would agree with the feeling - we could "make the pitch better", only if we had more time. Anyway, the next day, when the slides comparing the modules were reviewed, the overarching feedback was that they were generic and very weak. Everyone was trying to understand the reason for the lack of depth and the generic nature of the comparison. There was cacophony in the room about whether we should add this, remove that, or if the vendor product really has this feature, etc. After a few minutes, I raised my hand and asked a question - who all among you have worked on or seen vendor's product firsthand? Not a single hand went up in the room. There was silence for a few seconds. I didn't belabor the point and asked if we could quickly find people in the organization who had either worked with the incumbent vendor or with the pharma company (and hence might have some experience using vendor's product). To my surprise, through a flood of super-urgent outreach emails, five employees were identified. Four of them were flown in the very next day. We were racing against time, but at least we now had the right people in the room to "make the pitch better". I don't think we put together a strong proposal (we won a few services-centric parts of the bid, lost the product part). This and many similar experiences showed me how fragmented the bid response process was (still is) in most organizations. The bigger the company, the more fragmented and siloed it gets. There is rarely anyone to bring it all together. Perhaps such is the nature of big-bid beast. Later in my career, I established bid support practice (for another company). We kept a record of SMEs, created an amazing library of reusable content, flagged if the right people were not involved, etc. We became the go-to-team, and I recall receiving so many "Thank You" messages for my team in those two years (we supported 60+ proposals) Knowledge is power, and at times, it could be simply knowing the right person to be involved, when others don't. #WorkplaceMoments

He has his views about Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) winning with a better margins in 2024 elections. Over the last few decades, we all saw the interviews & journalism of #KaranThapar #RavishKumar and lately #RajdeepSardesai. At least two of them, the first and the last (honestly I have not seen Ravish Kumar interviewing #NarendraModi) could not ‘graduate’ from the #GodhraTrainBurning resulting in #GujaratRiots. In spite of then CM #NarendraModi getting a “clean chit” from #TheSupremeCourt, the duo kept asking questions around the same. These clearly looked tutored, as they do even today. Modi did say at few occasions that he has said what he had to. And finally he stopped interviews with both mid-way through interview (what is referred to in the below clip). I believe that these #TheGandhiMedia journalists were squarely responsible for Modi to keep the media at bay thereafter. They are also squarely responsible for encouraging the foreign-media BBC to come up with a documentary on the same issue again in 2023. It had to be bannned. Mind it, there were cases of ‘Fake Witnesses’ (to trap #NarendraModi in #GujaratRiots. On whose behest!? Is a mystery) put up by the ‘Interested Parties’. This was ‘established’ in the Court … One must read #PoliyicalActivist in this #GujaratRiot case #TeestaSetalwad who is still being “protected” by #TheSystem🤔. For Bail prolonging of hers - denied by #TheHighCourt - #TheSupremeCourt puts up a two justices bench at 7:30pm on weekend, and if they are undecided, #TheCJI convenes again at 9:30pm including himself on a three justice bench and prolongs the Bail. Again, on whose behest!? Is a mystery. 😶🤐 This is so called #TheSystem. Coming back, #PrashantKishor repeatedly saying “I am not running away”, which obviously is not going well with #KaranThapar. Obviously not going well with his “Onjectives”. This must not be one interview #KaranThapar enjoyed doing.

An AQI above 100 is considered unhealthy, and in many Indian cities, the levels regularly exceed 300, often reaching hazardous levels. Several factors contribute to the deteriorating AQI in India. Vehicular emissions are a major culprit, as urban areas experience rising traffic congestion, leading to increased pollution from outdated vehicles. Industrial emissions also play a significant role, particularly in densely populated regions with numerous factories and power plants. Agricultural practices such as the widespread burning of crop residues, especially in northern states like Punjab and Haryana, significantly contribute to air pollution, particularly during the harvest season. The impact of poor air quality is severe, with rising cases of respiratory diseases, cardiovascular conditions, and premature deaths. Vulnerable populations, including children, the elderly, and those with pre-existing health conditions, are at heightened risk. In addition to public health concerns, poor air quality also affects the economy, with a rise in healthcare costs and reduced productivity. To tackle this crisis, India needs comprehensive solutions, such as stricter enforcement of emission norms, the promotion of cleaner energy sources, and better waste management practices. We discussed several key topics, including Nitori's entry into the Indian market, their ambitious expansion plans, and their global presence. One of the most exciting takeaways was their plan to open approximately 300 stores across India, beginning with Mumbai and gradually expanding to other cities. While exploring their store, I observed the wide range of quality products they offer, catering to diverse customer preferences. Till late 80’s and 90’s India used to produce 70-80% of pharmaceuticals raw material required by its pharmaceutical industry. Then came cheap Chinese API (Active pharmaceutical ingredient), due to incentives and modern technology by Chinese government. Slowly all small and medium companies died, since they cannot match the price. Till 2004-05 when pharma industry become fully dependent on these Chinese raw materials, they increase the price up to 5 times, covering earlier losses. Today India import 80-90% of API from China and they drive the prices. It will take decades for India to rebuild this manufacturing again. Similarly till 2020 Chinese EV market share in Europe was 1.9%, which in 2024 become 14.1%, again same strategy, cheap car with heavy subsidy from government, it’s not fair for European companies. We can clearly see the pattern. If it will not stop slowly they will kill this market as well, so I am happy at least EU union decided to go ahead with tariff implementation plan for Chinese EV.
