Let’s hope this time they get it right and use this as a stepping stone for a fresh beginning in #Mumbai A 24-acre real estate project in #AndheriWest would likely be the largest in the area, considering that most prominent residential developments in this locality are significantly smaller, typically spanning 1–7 acres. Given the dense urban environment and high land values in Andheri West, such a large-scale development could redefine the real estate landscape in the area. It would be unprecedented in terms of scope and the variety of residential, commercial, and possibly mixed-use spaces it might include.

 India’s highest-paid banker isn’t Sashidhar Jagdishan, chief of the country’s largest private lender, HDFC Bank Ltd. That title goes not to Rajeev Jain, the CEO of India’s largest non-bank, Bajaj Finance Ltd, but to Abhay Bhutada, the recently retired chief of a small Pune-based lender called Poonawalla Fincorp Ltd. Shadow banks such as Poonawalla Fincorp and Bajaj Finance have been able to shower their bosses with hefty salaries, bonuses and stock options as they reap the rewards of robust business growth. As per RBI’s regulations, banks are governed by the Banking Regulation Act, which requires the boards of lenders to seek regulatory approval for CEO appointments and their salaries. INDIA NEARLY 50 FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT PROPOSAL STUCK WITH 17 MINISTRIES AND NOW DEPARTMENT FOR PROMOTION OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE ASKED THEM TO CLEAR THE SAME BECAUSE MAXIMUM 12 WEEKS PERIOD ALREADY CROSSED ) The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has called on 17 government departments to expedite decision-making on nearly 50 Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) proposals that have exceeded the mandated 12-week approval timeline. Around 46 FDI applications have crossed the government's prescribed limit without receiving clearance, reported BS, citing sources. Of those, 27 proposals have undergone security vetting by the Ministry of Home Affairs but still await a final decision from the respective administrative ministries. In a letter to the departments, the DPIIT emphasised the need to adhere to standard operating procedures and timelines for processing FDI proposals. The department specifically sought intervention from the Department of Economic Affairs under the Ministry of Finance to ensure time-bound approvals for the pending applications. A DPIIT spokesperson clarified that while the department facilitates the reception of FDI applications through an online portal, the final decision rests with the concerned administrative ministry. The sluggish pace of clearing investment proposals risks denting India's attractiveness as an investment destination, potentially hampering economic growth and job creation. Vivek Sharma : The markets have seen correction in mid and small cap space, where there is excess exuberance and valuations were unsustainable. Markets seem to have assigned high valuations to cyclical and slow growing companies and now there is some reality check. Further correction in pockets where earnings are not sustainable is not ruled out. Conservative, Credible and Commendable With close to 3 lakh cr additional buffer (higher cash balance end of Fy24 and extra RBI dividend), the govt showed remarkable constraint to cap expenditure increase to below 60k vis a vis the interim budget. This in an environment where they had to manage diverse expectations and political realities. The primary deficit is now at near 1.5%, a 5 year low and near pre pandemic levels. Further, a 1.5% fiscal consolidation has been achieved in a short span of 2 years. Yes revenue buoyancy and non tax revenue has helped, but the intent is very clear. Nothing short of commendable. Pure textbook approach to retrace when the going is good. Tbill delta of 1 lakh crs vs interim, gross borrowing lower by 1.4 lakh cr vs FY24. The RBI may take lead from this remarkable restraint. Should augur well for fixed income.

Gm, A landslide victory by the NDA in Maharashtra would be a good tonic that the market wants at the current level. This is a thumbs-up 👍 from the people of Maharashtra for progressive development. This will enable the government to accelerate the fast-track process for all infrastructure-related development across all major states. This, plus the revival in rural India, would help the economy bounce back 📈 in the second half. We have seen the market reacting adversely 📉 in the last two months due to weaker second-quarter earnings and also on account of heavy FII selling. To some extent, the correction in the market is also healthy as it removes froth 🧼 to some extent. Going forward, we believe the intensity of FII selling should reduce, and we should see an economic revival as well. Notwithstanding geopolitical tensions, the Indian economy would remain resilient. A bottom-up stock selection approach would be the mantra.

From its roots under a banyan tree to becoming Asia's pioneer stock exchange, Yesterday, we honored the remarkable journey of the Bombay Stock Exchange on its foundation day. Backstory: In the early 19th century, Bombay transformed into a bustling capitalist hub, attracting global traders with its strategic harbor and evolving infrastructure. Amid this economic surge, the Indian stock market took shape, with tradable securities and promise-to-pay notes. Cotton played a pivotal role in Bombay’s rise. By the 1840s, Colaba became the center of this thriving trade, and six Indian brokers laid the groundwork for an organized stock market. One key figure was Seth Premchand Roychand, who began trading cotton under a banyan tree at Elphinstone Circle in 1849. This banyan tree, symbolizing wisdom and unity, became a meeting place for traders. In 1875, twenty-two brokers, including Premchand, formed the Native Share and Stockbrokers Association, evolving into the BSE, Asia's first stock exchange. By 1899, the association moved to Dalal Street, thanks to financial support from Sir Dinshaw Maneckji Petit. The Swadeshi movement and the Tata Iron & Steel Co. IPO in 1907 marked significant milestones, propelling the BSE from its humble beginnings to the iconic PJ Tower.
