    At YAGNA, we strive to build world-class education for orphans and semi-orphans in an environment that is secular, competitive with the best in the market and nurturing.

    As a young and aspiring medical student, I was an active part of health camps to rural places, orphanages and old age homes.     As a young and aspiring medical student, I was an active part of health camps to rural places, orphanages and old age homes. In my second year of study (July, 2007), four friends and I decided to take on board 4 orphans who were willing to strive for education. Our consanguinity with these kids transformed our very existence – our beliefs and value systems. We named that little start-up of ours, YAGNA, a non-profit organization and got it registered. We decided YAGNA should focus Swami Vivekananda’s beacon words “Moorka devobhava ; rogi devobhava ; daridra devobhava” : Finding God in our work to the ignorant, the diseased and the destitute.

    We have been there personally for these people in person and in principle. All the projects we now operate have been started from scratch and maintained. We are yet to reach an efficient model and rely heavily on personal contributions as we do on funding.

    Today, YAGNA runs a full-fledged CBSE residential school (in Vikarabad) on par with the best in the industry. The difference is that all the 70 odd kids in the school are either orphans or single parent children from indigent financial and societal backgrounds. The school building construction has been initiated and is fast progressing with enough support. We also have a well-established primary health care and referral system that supports rural health needs thru Yagna Clinic and Help Desk. Our destitute service program at Osmania and Gandhi Medical colleges has rehabilitated over 70 people. The first lot of children we started out are now settled into various pharma, medical technician and BPO jobs.

    As long as there remain ignorant to be coached, diseased to be healed, and destitute to be addressed, my desire to make a difference shall remain.
