Japan’s Mizuho Financial Group is in discussions to acquire a portion of KKR’s stake in financial services unicorn InCred Finance at a premium to its most recent valuation of $1.2 Bn. Global investment firm KKR may divest around 10% of its stake in the Mumbai-based tech-driven non-banking finance company (NBFC), though this may change depending on how the talks progress. The negotiations are being held for a premium of up to 30-40% over the $1.2 Bn valuation at which InCred raised $60 Mn in December 2023. Rohit Krishna wanted nothing but to break into the PE/VC world, after he qualified as a CA in 2011. Unfortunately, many funds turned him down for being too young. Inflexor Ventures Achieves First Close of Rs 350 Crore Opportunities Fund Inflexor Ventures, a prominent early-stage venture capital firm, has announced the first close of its new Opportunities Fund, targeting a total corpus of Rs 350 crore. The fund reached approximately 80% of its goal with substantial backing from HDFC AMC Select AIF FoF I Scheme, managed by HDFC AMC, as the lead investor. Additional contributions came from high-net-worth individuals, family offices, corporates, and other institutional investors. Here’s a brief rundown on how companies transition from private to public entities through the Initial Public Offering (IPO) process. An IPO allows a company to raise capital and gain liquidity by offering its shares to the public. However, the IPO process in India is intricate and involves several critical steps. --> Steps in the IPO Process: - Hiring an Underwriter or Investment Bank: Companies begin by hiring financial experts who act as intermediaries and ensure the capital is raised efficiently. The underwriting agreement details the deal, the amount to be raised, and securities being issued. - Registration for IPO: This involves preparing a registration statement and the Offer Document, which includes definitions, risk factors, use of proceeds, industry and business descriptions, management information, financial statements, and legal disclosures. - Verification by SEBI: The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) reviews the company's disclosures.
