Staffing firms and job portals have observed a significant increase in the hiring of tech talent by Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in India. According to the data shared by Careernet, the proportion of tech talent at GCCs is at least 55% of the total talent base. This trend has been particularly evident since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. FlexiLoans Raises ₹290 Crore to Boost SME Lending and Expand Operations! We’re excited to announce that FlexiLoans, a Mumbai-based digital lending startup, has successfully raised ₹290 crore (around $35 million) in an equity funding round led by Accion, Nuveen, a TIAA company, and The Fundamentum Partnership. Denmark-based Maj Invest also participated in this round, further supporting FlexiLoans’ mission to provide accessible financing for small and medium businesses (SMBs) across India. About FlexiLoans Founded in 2016 by Deepak Jain, Ritesh Jain, and Manish Lunia, all Indian School of Business alumni, FlexiLoans has grown to become a leading player in the digital lending space. The company has raised a total of ₹636 crore in equity funding and has built an impressive Asset Under Management (AUM) of ₹2,000 crore. To date, FlexiLoans has disbursed ₹3,000 crore in loans, primarily to SMBs, with a gross bad loan ratio of 3.4%. FlexiLoans focuses on providing term loans and supply chain financing, using a digital acquisition model while maintaining a physical network of agents for loan servicing and collections. This hybrid approach has helped FlexiLoans keep its bad assets in check and grow sustainably. Future Plans With this fresh funding, FlexiLoans aims to increase loan disbursements to ₹5,100 crore by the end of this fiscal year, scaling its impact across India's SMB sector. The funds will also be used to further strengthen its collections capabilitiesand expand its customer base through innovative digital solutions.
