DLF Reports No Slowdown In Luxury Market Amid Indexation Changes, To Launch Super Luxury Villas In Goa DLF, India's largest real estate developer, has reported no slowdown in the luxury residential market, despite the removal of indexation benefits in the recent budget. Senior executives revealed during the company's June quarter earnings call that upcoming launches in the super-luxury segment are expected to further enhance cash flows and profitability. "In about 15 months, we have done about Rs 22,000 crore of sales. The demand is further consolidating towards a better and a good product. The latent demand that a DLF product still has, and our delivery schedule, based on all of that, our price points stay where they are. Did you know Mumbai T2 Airport has cabs driven by women? Did you know that women cab drivers have been transporting passengers for the last twenty years? Did you know that women-driven taxis are invariably air-conditioned? If your answer to any of these questions is "no," you might not be the only one. Despite the talk about diversity, inclusion, equity, and equality, Mumbai's taxis are quietly sidelining their women drivers. Let me explain. While I have been traveling regularly in city taxis from Mumbai T2 arrivals, choosing the ‘Kaali-Peeli’ or rather the ‘neeli-sunehri’ AC taxi over Ola and Uber, it's mostly post 11 p.m. when I get allotted a woman driver. This week, when I returned, I chose to hire an AC taxi, but as my ticket was being processed, they ran out. Sheepishly, the clerk offered me a non-AC option. I agreed, assuming I had no choice. But then, the clerk asked me, "Are you okay with a woman driver?" My response was, "Why wouldn’t I be! All I need is a cab that will drive me home. The driver does not matter." Throughout my travel, my taxi driver told me that women drivers are often ignored, passed over, and made to wait hours before being allotted a passenger. Like all professionals, these women are out there earning their livelihood, but the cartel of male clerks and drivers is deliberately hindering their chances. So, next time, when you arrive at Mumbai Terminal 2, go to the city cab section and ask for a woman-driven cab. #womenatwork #Mumbaicity #diversityequityandinclusion #equality #womensday

Mumbai Property Market Scenario 2024 to 2030 by Chetan Narain The most frequently asked question to me, post ‘Poll Results’ is: what’s going to happen to the Property Market? It’s surprisingly a sceptical question, especially when we have a confirmed continuation of the same Governing party, who will hopefully follow through with the Economic growth plans in motion and the ones in pipeline. Perhaps most people’s expectations of a majority victory dampened their spirit. My comeback and analogy was: If you play a sport and injure yourself, perhaps even bleed, the pain you feel is highest on the same day and perhaps the next few days. But once you start healing, in a matter of week or two, you bounce back and are playing again. Similarly, whether it was the knee-jerk reaction of the Equity Market or overall sentiments, things do bounce back sooner than you realise... If there is a slowdown in sales of Properties it would have no direct correlation to Politics, don’t forget, they have vested interest too. FDI in Real Estate is at its highest in India currently. Our growth story and Economy seems steadily growing. The rich are only getting richer. And ones at Mid-level and lower-level jobs are getting better remuneration. We are perhaps the only country where you will see someone on a bicycle as a mode of transport and talking on a mobile phone, every house help/maid has one too. But most importantly as a Country and its people, most of us smiling, cracking jokes, are happy and usually content. I am not convinced many people are still jobless, there is job almost for everyone today. Think about it; Local Corporates, Multinationals, Banks, Mid-Size companies, Construction, Coastal roads and sea-link Infrastructure, Property Management companies, BPO’s, increase in number of Malls, food deliveries, same day intra-city courier services, apps for cabs, Amazon type several Apps for shopping/deliveries, expansion of Airports, Metros & Manpower for security at all the above-mentioned places offer a variety of openings.
