Did you know that Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) is a transformative force—not only for child development but also for women’s empowerment? It creates a triple impact: nurturing young minds, enabling mothers to enter the workforce, and providing employment to millions of women in caregiving roles. At the core of ECCE’s success are Anganwadi centres—one of the most effective ways to ensure every child receives quality early education. Even in the most remote villages, where few government services exist, two things remain constant: a post office and an Anganwadi centre. This year marks 50 years of India’s ICDS programme—the world’s largest and possibly oldest public daycare network. On this International Women's Day, we celebrate the 14 lakh dedicated women shaping the nation’s future. We’re thrilled to share that our co-founder, Mr. Azeez Gupta, and National Initiatives Policy lead, Ms. Sanjana Manaktala, participated as panellists in the Government of India's post-budget webinar on 5th March. The webinar, moderated by Additional Secretary, Mr. Gyanesh Bharti, focused on key budget measures, expert insights, and implementation strategies for the Union Budget 2025-26. As part of the Investing in People session, Azeez and Sanjana discussed crucial initiatives like Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0. Azeez highlighted how strengthening cost norms can improve both food quality and education standards in Anganwadi centres, further reinforcing the critical role of Anganwadis in early childhood development.
