𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗸 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗲, 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮', as the Guest of Honour. The event included a series of insightful sessions focusing on topics such as the ways in which women are redefining leadership through principles of inclusivity, adaptability, and collaboration, how advancements in technology, flexible work models, and diversity-driven policies contribute to fostering innovation, and the significant role women play in effecting change through legal reforms, business initiatives, and social entrepreneurship, thereby dismantling barriers for future generations. Understanding patent fundamentals is key for researchers to protect innovations and secure commercialisation opportunities. Effective drafting and filing strategies strengthen patent protection and prevent premature disclosure. A well-drafted patent helps prevent idea theft, and by providing precise technical details, researchers can enhance patent enforceability and commercialisation potential. In this context, the Office of DPIIT-IPR Chair at Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad successfully hosted an engaging workshop on “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)” on February 24, 2025. The workshop aimed to raise awareness among researchers, academicians, and students about the significance of intellectual property in the research ecosystem. The significance of robust data privacy and protection mechanisms for organisations has intensified in recent times, especially with the announcement of the draft Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP) Rules. As organisations strive to comply with the new regulatory mandates, it becomes essential to engage in comprehensive discussions on privacy-by-design principles, effective compliance strategies, and the innovative applications of privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs). On these lines, the Data Security Council of India Data Protection Summit 2025 was held on February 21, 2025, in Mumbai, convening experts and practitioners in the field of data privacy to explore India’s evolving privacy landscape. The summit featured discussions on key topics such as DPDP implementation, building robust privacy programs, privacy-by-design strategies, managing SDF mandates, PETs, the role of Generative AI in privacy, and technologies to accelerate privacy adoption.
