Grid Controller of India Limited (GRID-INDIA), a Miniratna-I company, formerly known as Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO), is a wholly owned Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, bearing responsibility of operating India’s Electricity Grid through the National Load Despatch Centre (NLDC) and five (5) Regional Load Despatch Centres (RLDCs) ensuring power within and across the regions and trans-national exchange of power with reliability, security, resilience and sustainability, ultimately reaching to over 1.4 billion consumers.

  • A compendium of collaboration between ERLDC GRID-INDIA and the State Load Despatch Centres (SLDCs) of Eastern Region was unveiled by Shri Paresh R. Ranpara, Director (HR) GRID-INDIA at Kolkata on 7th January, 2025. The compendium highlights the collaboration between Load Despatch Centres at Regional and State Level in Eastern Region for addressing unique challenges posed by diverse power system profiles. It also acknowledges the enabling environment provided by the Regional Power Committee (ERPC). The report takes everyone through 36 visits made by ERLDC to the SLDCs in 36 months for interaction on key focus areas. Such collaborative approach is need of the hour and this initiative marks a tiny step forward, paving the way for a robust strategic alliance.   • Shri S R Narasimhan, CMD, GRID-INDIA, has been awarded the NPSC Industry Excellence Award 2024 at the 23rd National Power Systems Conference (NPSC) at IIT Indore on Dec 14, 2024! This recognition is for his exceptional contribution to power system operations. Under his leadership, key power sector achievements include SCED (₹4000 Cr savings), cybersecurity in the Indian Electricity Grid Code (2023), PFR testing (85 GW), and AGC rollout for 70,000 MW, enhancing grid efficiency & India’s global energy expertise.
