The Swedish renewable company Hexicon AB has signed a TSA with KEPCO for its 1,125 MW MunmuBaram floating offshore wind project, while developers Mainstream Renewable Power and Ocean Winds have secured grid connection for their 1,125 MW KF Wind floating wind project (consisting of 375 MW East Blue Power and 750 MW KF Wind) . Both projects are located off the coast of Ulsan, in southern South Korea. Both projects were also recently awarded an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) approval by the Korean Ministry of Environment. The Ulsan floating offshore wind cluster is expected to have a total capacity of around 6 GW once completed. #Energy #Power #LatestNews Source - https://lnkd.in/g2iQrxW9

𝐋𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 ‘𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤’ 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐙𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 New Zealand solar PV developer Lodestone Energy has signed a solar agreement with poultry provider Inghams to match its electricity consumption via solar PV power plants. Under this ‘landmark’ 20-year agreement, Lodestone Energy will generate certified renewable electricity from its solar PV power plants in the Bay of Plenty and Coromandel, on New Zealand’s northern island, to meet Inghams’ demand long into the future. The agreement has also been deemed flexible, and thus, Lodestone will adapt to ensure that 100% of Inghams’ electricity is met by solar PV. This protects Inghams from volatility in the electricity market, which prime minister Christopher Luxon recently dubbed an “energy crisis”. #LatestNews #news #Energy #Power Source - https://lnkd.in/dh6rg2-S

(Xinhua/Hu Huhu) BEIJING, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- China has made remarkable strides in energy development over the past 75 years, deepening its green, low-carbon transformation and continuously improving its energy utilization efficiency, a report from the National Bureau of Statistics showed on Thursday. The following are some highlights of China's achievements in the energy sector: -- China has become the world's largest energy producer. In 2023, its total primary energy output was 4.83 billion tonnes of standard coal, a 202.6-fold increase from 1949, growing at an average annual rate of 7.4 percent. #LatestNews #News #Energy #Power Source - https://lnkd.in/dczc44SK

Putting forward a 10-point plan for Ukraine to safeguard its war-battered energy security, the IEA also warned of problems for neighbouring Moldova’s electricity supply after Ukraine stops allowing the transit of Russian gas at the end of 2024, reports Agence France-Presse (AFP). “Ukraine’s energy system has made it through the past two winters … But this winter will be, by far, its sternest test yet,” IEA executive director Fatih Birol said in a news release accompanying the report. The report said that in 2022 and 2023 “about half of Ukraine’s power generation capacity was either occupied by Russian forces, destroyed or damaged, and approximately half of the large network substations were damaged by missiles and drones”. #LatestNews #News #Energy #Power Source - https://lnkd.in/d8CRh9qS

𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 '𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬' 𝐚𝐬 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 Every household should be able to upgrade their home and reap the power bill savings for years to come, regardless of their economic status, a forum has been told. "This is about Australians taking back control of our power and our power bills, not leaving it in the hands of greedy energy companies," ACTU president Michele O'Neil told the Better Futures Forum in Canberra on Tuesday. "This can't be about Teslas in teal seats." Unions, industry, First Nations groups, social services providers and climate organisations are preparing to launch a campaign on Wednesday to re-power all homes, not just those who can afford it. The union leader accused "business cheerleader" Peter Dutton of wanting Australians to pay for the federal opposition's "expensive nuclear fantasy", which analysts say will drive up average power bills by another $1000 a year. Ms O'Neil said the nuclear option would also leave coal workers without a way to transition into new renewable energy jobs. #LatestNews #Energy #Power #News Source - https://lnkd.in/etXqGZw9

The announcement comes as the Administration has released new data to demonstrate how the historic steps it has taken to accelerate and improve federal permitting processes are helping deliver more projects, more efficiently, across the United States. The Department’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is finalizing two projects and moving forward two more that will advance new transmission lines and solar facilities across the state, helping deliver clean, reliable energy from the Nevada desert to the Western electric grid and creating jobs for union workers. The two projects receiving approval – the Greenlink West Transmission Project and Libra Solar Project – will unlock up to 4.7 gigawatts of clean energy, enough to power nearly 5 million homes. “From building large scale transmission lines to solar power generating facilities, the Interior Department and our team at the Bureau of Land Management are leading the way in the development of reliable, clean energy across the West,” said Acting Deputy Secretary Daniel-Davis. “The infrastructure projects we are advancing today in Nevada are helping meet President Biden’s ambitious renewable energy goals while making communities more energy resilient and creating good-paying jobs in the clean energy economy.” #LatestNews #Energy #Power #Solar Source - https://lnkd.in/euzt87ng
