  • On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, Bata Indonesia organized a Bata Children Program activity with the theme of World Children's Day. This event was held at Sekolah Kami, an informal study group for the trash-picking community located on the outskirts of Jakarta. The event featured various activities related to physical health and knowledge about children's mental health. One of the highlights was a mental health talk focusing on anti-bullying and building mental resilience in children. Through this session, the children were taught about what bullying is and its impact on their environment. Following the talk, the event continued with medical check-ups conducted by five doctors for approximately 70 children from Sekolah Kami. The check-ups included basic health assessments such as measuring weight and height, checking the condition of their eyes and ears, and addressing any current complaints about their physical well-being. For female students in 5th grade and above, the check-ups were conducted separately by female doctors, focusing on hygiene and issues related to menstruation. After these two sessions, the event concluded with a handover ceremony and group photo with the infrastructure donated by BCP Indonesia to Sekolah Kami: a hydroponic garden, a fish pond, and one set of computers. The hydroponic garden and fish pond will serve as hands-on educational tools, enhancing learning about sustainable farming and environmental science. The computer set will help the children learn basic computer skills, such as operating Microsoft Office programs and typing, which are essential for their future education and career readiness. The event wrapped up with the distribution of meals and goodie bags containing hygiene essentials such as toothbrushes and toothpaste, shampoo, towels, soap, and UHT milk for the children. #BataBCP #WeAreBata #BataIndonesia #BataOneTeam #BataChildrenProgram #Bata #EveryStepMatters #volunteer #WorldChildrenDay #2024

In celebration of Founder's Day 2024, Bata Indonesia is conducting a series of three activities from September 20 to 22, 2024. On Friday, September 20, 2024, representatives from the heads of departments and BCP volunteers participated in a mangrove planting event at Taman Wisata Alam (TWA) Angke. This process involved planting mangrove seeds and later planting mangrove trees in the swamp. The purpose of this mangrove planting initiative is to enhance biodiversity, protect coastal areas, and contribute to carbon sequestration. Additionally, it reflects our commitment to corporate social responsibility by promoting environmental sustainability. On the day of Founder's Day, Saturday, September 21, 2024, we organized a futsal tournament across 10 regions in Indonesia, including Banten, Depok, Bogor, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Bali, Malang, Makassar, Balikpapan, and Medan. Through this activity, our goal is to foster teamwork, encourage physical activity among children, and build community spirit, all while engaging with the Bata Children Program to support the development and well-being of the Children. In the final activity on Sunday, September 22, 2024, we invited children from SOS Children's Villages and the "Sekolah Kami" community to participate in various activities at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII). They had the opportunity to learn mask painting and play the angklung, a traditional Indonesian musical instrument made from bamboo. The angklung produces beautiful sounds when shaken, and it is often played in groups to create harmonious melodies. This activity not only introduced them to Indonesia’s rich musical heritage but also encouraged teamwork as they learned to play together. They also toured the "Museum Indonesia," where they explored Indonesia’s diverse culture. The day concluded with a tour around TMII, showcasing replicas and miniatures of Indonesia’s cultural heritage, including traditional houses and historical sites. These activities provided valuable learning experiences for the children, fostering creativity, cultural appreciation, and a sense of belonging. By engaging with their heritage, they are empowered to embrace their identity and build a brighter future. Looking ahead, we hope that the Bata Children Program will continue to positively impact the lives of children, helping them realize their potential. As Nelson Mandela said, "Children are our greatest treasure. They are our future."  Together, we can create a better tomorrow for them. #BataBCP #BataIndonesia #FoundersdayBata #Foundersday2024 #Bata #BataChildrenProgram
