Recently, I encountered an Insecure Direct Object Reference (IDOR) issue on a utility company’s website, allowing access to other users’ information by simply adjusting a URL parameter. Thanks to the quick action from the company after I reported it, the vulnerability was patched right away. A special thank you to Ran Bar-Zik for publishing the story and helping to bring attention to the importance of strong access control in data security.
