Yaniv holds a PhD from the Hebrew University and has built data science teams from scratch at companies like Lightricks. He's a true genius and one of a kind. In his own words: "I am passionate about solving data-driven problems and, more generally, research in the fields of statistics and machine learning. I also enjoy teaching courses in those fields. Aside from data, I have a great interest in psychology and, in particular, in interpersonal relationships and decision-making processes. Very interesting report of Israel's AI ecosystem by F2 Venture Capital, Google Cloud and Deloitte. 🔍 On a high level: - The AI startup ecosystem in Israel is booming, with over 2,150 active AI companies, representing ~30% of the local tech sector. - Startups leveraging AI attracted over 60% of all capital raised in 2023. - The country ranks 3rd globally in private AI investment, demonstrating its strong position in the global AI market. 💡 Key takeaways from the report: - Vertical AI is a stronghold. It attracts the largest share of private funding, with Life Sciences, Healthcare and Fintech (banking, financial services and insuretech) leading the charge. Israel's deep domain expertise in these sectors positions it as a potential global leader. - Autonomous Enterprise (Horizontal AI) shows promise. Cybersecurity is a particular strength, capturing 56% of the segment's funding However, the development of multi-modal, end-to-end solutions and AI agents presents further opportunities for cross-industry applications. - AI & Data Ops is a key area for growth. Israel's strong talent pool and focus on enhancing existing infrastructure make it well-suited to address the growing demand for cloud-based AI Ops platforms and efficient data management solutions. Israeli AI-Driven Cash Flow Management Platform Raises a $10 Million Panax, an Israeli AI startup that helps companies to handle cash flow, raised a $10 million Series A round of funding led by Team8, with participation from TLV Partners. The total funding of the startup is now $15.5 million. Panax will scale its go-to-market approach, build a more robust AI and data team, and expand its NYC office while keeping its R&D in Israel. AI helps the startup to put together financial data, identify insights and forecast cash flow. The startup also provides a possibility for foreign exchange. Salesforce Acquires an Israeli Data Management Provider ​​for $450 Million Zoomin, an Israeli startup that offers tools for processing unstructured data, was acquired by Salesforce. Zoomin developed a content delivery platform that makes it possible to process unstructured data to make it more accessible to AI models and systems. Among Zoomin’s customers there are Dell Technologies and Mastercard. Salesforce will integrate Zoomin’s technology to equip its AI-driven autonomous service chatbots with the capability to provide personalized answers to customers’ needs. - Salesforce was one of the initial investors in Zoomin, making a strategic investment in the company in 2018. - To date, Zoomin, founded in 2016 by Gal Oron, Joe Gelb and Hannan Saltzman, raised about $73 million in venture capital.
