A week ago today I took the stage at Content Israel as a key speaker. I transparently shared in a room with over 300 fellow marketers that the first thing my CEO always asks me when we brainstorm a new campaign or program is, “Jen, what’s your content distribution plan?” 7 days and 3 hours to the dot, Daniel Kushner 🐙 asked me to provide my content distribution plan for one of our latest customer programs ( side note: super excited to launch, it's still top secret, so do stay tuned) And you know what was front and center as part of that distribution plan? #EmployeeAdvocacy. Why? Because when you understand how to use employee networks to distribute your content you crack the code in making sure your content is seen by the right people, from the right people in your organization. You create meaningful and personalized customer journeys. You stay true to what social media was intended for-- being social, and build a people-to-people connection. You use the authentic voices of your employees to share the content you’ve worked so hard to create ensuring that your content sees the light of day, you get the credit you deserve, and you can measure the actual engagement and reach of that content far beyond your corporate profile. And most importantly, you build meaningful relationships and can understand what content was used to help build them... So my question to you is, do you include #EmployeeAdvocacy as part of your distribution plan? Sharing my slide on my thought process on how to use advocacy to build meaningful customer journeys if some may find it helpful.

Take a look at this picture. It was taken today at our Salesforce offices in Tel-Aviv. It shows a few dozens of Salesforce Israel employees in one of our regular all-hands meetings. What's so special about that? Well, that picture was taken exactly 36 hours after Iran launched a massive aerial strike against Israel with 100s of UCAVs, ballistic and cruise missiles carrying about 60 tons(!) of explosives. Thanks to the Israeli Air force, the air forces of the US, UK, France, Jordan and others *and* Israeli innovation and engineering talent who developed the most advanced multi-layered air defense systems in the world - luckily that attack ended up with relatively low impact. It was a sleepless night for all us in Israel who got an advanced notice of the attack and basically spent that night bracing for impact. Now take another look at this picture. 36 hours later - People showing up at the office, talking to each other, having a few laughs, having meetings, discussing deadlines, solving business problems, discussing engineering problems, doing demos, having coffee and lunch together, having an all-hands meeting together. 36 hours ago we were bracing for impact of 60 tons of explosives that were about to fall out of the sky. I had the pleasure to meet and chat with professionals like Zohar (Zoe) Haimovitch 🎗, Jordan Snapper, Dasha Rein Dubinsky 🎗️, Yarden Kroitoru and more. 🤔 What inspired me most was... those marketing leaders. Their insights highlighted the unique challenges we face as marketers today. And while success depends on clear strategies and well-thought-out plans, the fast-paced startup environment, especially in our local Israeli realm, is often expected to be "quick and dirty". My Top 10 #Legal #Tips for Starting a New #Startup #Company 🚀👨🏼‍⚖️👩🏽‍⚖️ I had the pleasure of sharing my experience as an #entrepreneur and an #attorney at the great podcast of Yan Pollack and Ori Hadad, together with my favourite lawyer Eyal Bar-Zvi. These are my tips (not an official legal advice :)) - feel free to add more tips in the comments: 1️⃣ Clarify Responsibilities and Decision-Making Processes: Establish how decisions will be made, who is accountable for what, and include internal dispute resolution mechanisms to avoid conflicts later. 2️⃣ Set Equity with Buyback/Reverse Vesting Clauses: Ensure founders have equity upfront, but with mechanisms like reverse vesting to protect the company from “ghost founders” who leave early. 3️⃣ Don’t Rush to Register a Company: Focus on validating your idea first. Register a legal entity only when you’re ready to fundraise, hire, or sign contracts. 4️⃣ Protect Intellectual Property (IP) from Day One: Ensure the company owns all IP created by founders, employees, and contractors, and secure trademarks or patents as needed. 5️⃣ Be Strategic About Ownership and Control: Understand how equity splits impact voting rights, board seats, and future decision-making authority. 6️⃣ Plan Fundraising Thoughtfully: Choose the right instruments (SAFE, convertible notes, or equity rounds) and ensure your cap table stays clean for future investors. 7️⃣ Avoid Conflicts with Previous Employers: Check your employment agreements for IP ownership or non-compete clauses if you’re starting a company while still employed. 8️⃣ Think Globally from Day One: If you plan to operate internationally, consider tax, legal, and compliance challenges early on to avoid costly mistakes. 9️⃣ Document Contributions and Agreements: From co-founder roles to handshake deals, put everything in writing to ensure clarity and avoid disputes down the road. 🔟 Protect Yourself Personally: Separate personal and business finances, and use liability protection to safeguard yourself in case something goes wrong. So... the Israeli tech machine is finally moving towards focusing on the early-stage: The Startups Forum (part of the Israeli Hi-Tech Association איגוד ההיי-טק הישראלי) was launched and that's great news for us all.
