IVC Data and Insights report on the Israeli venture market for Q1-Q3 2024 reveals: - $7.4 billion invested in Israeli startups, surpassing the entire 2023 total of $6.9 billion. - $13 billion generated from exits, a 26% increase from 2023's $10.4 billion. - 23% surge in foreign investments year-over-year. - 67% of capital sourced from global investors, with 33% from Israeli funds. - $2.7 billion secured by early-stage startups, the second-highest figure in Israeli startup ecosystem history (after 2022's record). Huge move for the future of AI in Israel. The incredible founders of Aporia - Liran Hason and Alon Gubkin - have built one of the greatest AI teams in Israel. Today we celebrate their success and announce its acquisition by Coralogix (link in the first comment). Quick recap - Aleph's portfolio company Coralogix is a data infrastructure company in the observability field. They offer a real-time streaming analytics pipeline for logs, metrics, tracing and security. This move will help them expand into AI observability - a critical new market. But there's more to the story. Coralogix is going to invest tens of millions of dollars into a dedicated AI research center in #Israel. While everyone is talking about the importance of AI excellence in Israel, it's people like Ariel Assaraf and Yoni Farin who actually deliver. Well done friends! Recently I was at an event at Google, and they were ranking the top technological-ecosystems in the world. Tel Aviv was number 3. Even after the last year, we have demonstrated an incredible commitment to our ideas, our development, and yes — our dreams. BlinqIO, a startup founded by Israeli entrepreneurs Tal Barmeir and Guy Arieli, has raised $5 million in a Seed funding round. The funding was led by Flint Capital and included investments from Inovia Capital Precede Fund I, TAL Ventures, and SeedIL. BlinqIO has developed autonomous human-like virtual testers operated by AI, providing companies with an infinite pool of testers that can be integrated into the development process. This allows companies to allocate higher value work to their human workforce. The platform leverages generative AI and Large Language Models (LLM) to enhance its operations, with the AI test engineer being able to comprehend requirements and autonomously create and maintain test automation code. The funding will enable BlinqIO to establish new offices in the U.S. and expand its workforce. Impact on the generative AI industry: Positive. BlinqIO's platform, which combines generative AI and Large Language Models, offers a solution to remove bottlenecks in test automation and provide developers with instant feedback. Last week Bria was ranked #20 of the most promising startups in Israel, kudos to the team! It is a long journey to build a startup. At 8 years old, I fell in love with mathematics, and at that point, I knew that's what I'd get my PhD in. That passion not only shaped my academic path but also ignited my interest in visual technologies and AI, which led me to pursue a PhD in computer vision. During my studies, I began to realise just how much the future of content would change with AI coming into the mix. Fast-forward to 2020, during COVID and before the Gen AI hype, I combined my understanding of how visuals can be generated with AI and the valuable enterprise experience I gained in my previous role at Trax Retail, to co-establish an AI startup called BRIA. We had one simple goal: To make it easy for any individual and company to generate the exact visuals needed for any use. Our key objective in helping you achieve this is to ensure that we provide you with a transparent, open, and responsible AI platform trained solely on licensed data, no public figures and deep fake, no privacy infringement. And in a world where more than 43% of people don't trust companies to use AI morally, Responsible AI use has never been more important. In building BRIA, we've been able to help businesses all over the world scale their content development process. And what gets me even more excited is that we've been able to partner with different creators to ensure that their creativity is respected, rewarded, and isn't pirated. We trained our own high quality foundation models and built the core tools of Generative AI so everyone can use it. One of Gary Vaynerchuk's most frequent phrases is "arbitrage". For him, it is finding something at a garage sale that can be resold for much much more on eBay. There is significant areas of arbitrage opportunity in today's world. 1. Traveling medicine. Yes, there are many areas where there are not enough doctors and nurses. 2. Language skills. Many non-native English speaking countries have a hard time selling cross boarders because they can not effectively communicate in native English. Thank you to Andrew Jacobson for his post below. 3. Food. America is blessed with more food than it has ever had available at any previous time in history. But things are changing quickly: FDA is working on updates to food coloring; there are shortages in poultry due; and other issues. The opportunity here is to offer a chemical free natural food coloring. Or an alternative to chicken. Both are coming. 4. Education. No, college is not for everyone. And no, not every job "needs" a degree (nor should they). There are so many education options. I don't want to use the word alternative, because it is not a situation where someone things "well fine since I can't get a degree I am going for an alternative program". Codie A. Sanchez pitches the boring trades: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing. Here is the arbitrage: you start working after a very short training program, and will make more than many college graduates because these jobs are very much less cyclical.

**An Israeli Startup Entrepreneur’s Response to Darkness, Part II** Imagine someone asked you to go into a room and turn off the dark. ?!?! What would you do? Of course, you would turn on a light. And if they asked you to turn the dark back on, well, you would turn off the light. Because darkness does not have a switch – it has no ‘שימוש’. It is the absence of light, or the presence of light. You want less darkness? Well there is only one question to ask – one thing to do: Turn on a light. Most of the corporate business world deals with trying to turn off the dark. That is, they sit with the status quo, and move around existing technologies and resources in order to create different results. Not us entrepreneurs. No sir. No Ma’am. We light new lights. ‘ויהי אור’ – Let there be light.  We have these highly unusual spirits. Where others see painful gaps that must be managed, we imagine new solutions. Where others struggle with existing darkness, we find new ways to create light. The cool thing about light is, that unlike any other element, it multiplies without diminishing when you share it. It’s like my teacher, Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach once said: “If I pour you some water from my cup, now we both have half a cup (before, I had a full cup). But when I light your unlit candle with my flame, now we have two flames. And when we join them together, the sum is greater than either part. That’s us Israeli entrepreneurs. And the thing is, we have another crazy power.  I think it comes from us Jews waiting 2,000 years to return to our homeland, always believing it was going to happen “any day now!”  Yeah, doesn’t that sound like most startup founders that you know?? You see, it is in our DNA. We don’t do ‘hopelessness’. We are more tenacious than even Jack Black. ‘חוסן’ - 'Resilient' - is our middle name. So let’s remember who we are, my dear fellow members of the Israeli Startup Community. Our Nation needs our Superpower.  Let’s turn on those lights like never before. עם ישראל חי
