Over the past months, I had the opportunity together with Orr Benyamini, Yahav Ben Yaakov, Kobi Somech and Ofri Rosenberg to participate in the "Designing AI for Democracy" Hackathon, hosted by Microsoft for Startups, Tel Aviv University, Meitar | Law Offices and Bright Data. The subject was combating misinformation in social media, which is especially important in these days. Together, we developed NewsWise, a cutting-edge app that empowers users to critically evaluate news stories encountered on social media. Leveraging advanced AI and generative models, NewsWise compares the information shared in social media posts with reports from official news outlets, highlighting both similarities and differences.
