A bit of history: ➡️ First 14 days: 2000 ETH for 1 BTC ➡️ Then the rate changed: 1337 ETH for 1 BTC ➡️ The presale lasted 42 days and raised 60,102,000 ETH ($18,439,000 at that time) Today, you can buy only about 20 ETH for 1 BTC. Incredible growth, isn't it? And tomorrow, we are looking forward to another landmark event - the launch of ETH ETF trading in the US. Was great to share the 'Bigger Picture with Omnia Al Desoukie / THE CRYPTO RADIO podcast for a more mainstream audience. https://lnkd.in/dmR9_b7M While $75k #bitcoin (+100% 12mths) gets the headlines, it worth noting that BTC is a flagbearer and value anchor for transformative #blockchain + #tokenization tech. Tech that also has the potential to build a more ethically focussed #IslamicFinance ecosystem that is sincerely anchored by assets vs debt-based consumption or money creation. COMMODITY TOKENISATION “A lot of these countries are very indebted, so this could be a way to release some of that value buried under the ground and get it more into the hands of the country.” The Blockchain/DLT economy allows for tokenisation of Physical World Assets (PWAs), real estate, gold, commodities, oil/gas etc. This can be transformative for commodity rich regions like the #GCC + especially for indebted #Africa by turning [real] illiquid assets into sources of wealth for more funding+ investment. ISLAMIC FINANCE “I don’t actually think, as it stands, Islamic finance [banking] does much that is different from conventional banks.” I will probably take some heat for that comment, but if I look at outcomes.. most of the $4 trillion islamic banking sector delivers near identical outcomes as a interest/debt/money printing banks - it probably means we are not doing right. New ideas + new paradigms are needed. Tokenization offers an opportunity to putting asset-backed finance and the real economy back to the center. Smart contracts can be used to ensure ecosystem compliant with halal principles. CRYPTO FRIENDLY? “I wouldn’t want my mom, or anyone who isn’t tech-savvy, messing around with this type of stuff” Cryptocurrencies + decentralized finance (#DeFi) platforms can be notoriously user-unfriendly, often requiring a high degree of technical knowledge but I am optimistic that this will change over time. Recall the early days of internet banking - once felt daunting has become commonplace. "When online banking first started, people didn’t trust it. But look at where we are now—no one thinks twice. I believe crypto will evolve in a similar way over the next five to ten years, to the point where you won’t even realize you’re using it.” BRICS=DEFI? “If it wasn’t for these state actors getting in on the game, I’d be a bit of a pessimist,” he said. “But with bigger players involved, there’s huge potential for the DeFi space.” #BRICS is a gamechanger here. A multipolar alliance NEEEDS a decentralised financial payments/settlement system - else they will probably be dominated by China. EMPOWERMENT “I think it unleashes humanity. I think it unleashes creativity, if you give people the tools,” For frontier markets—emerging economies with less developed financial systems - #crypto and DeFi could empower people by expanding access to financial tools, spurring economic growth and unleashing creativity.

2:27 .... 16 blocks remaining. The halvening is nigh! What is a Bitcoin block halving event? Block halving events happen every 4 years or 210,000 blocks on Bitcoin blockchain. Bitcoin's initial block reward was 50 BTC. The current block reward is 6.25 BTC, the next block reward will be 3.125 BTC. This lowers the rate at which Bitcoins are generated. The halving is periodical and is programmed into Bitcoin's code. Why was this done? Conventional FIAT currencies are subject to inflation due to the ability of governments or banks to increase the money supply. Unlike these currencies, Bitcoin has a capped total supply of 21,000,000 BTC, meaning no additional coins can be created beyond this limit. This finite supply, alongside potential changes in demand as more people adopt Bitcoin, positions it similarly to gold - a resource with a limited supply that cannot be artificially increased. Why so many Haters? Cuz they feel they missed out at $30, $300, $900, $5000, $15,000, $25,000, and they're about to miss out at $65,000. They haven't missed out, it's still early! #Bitcoin

Sony has filed a patent for a new ‘Super-Fungible Token’ (SFT) that could alter how gamers own and trade in-game assets. Two basic questions: ⁉️ What’s an SFT? Basically, it would allow gamers to own a bundle of NFTs (in-game assets). ⁉️ Why SFTs? Good question—since it’s such early days, it isn’t entirely clear how it could be used, but it seems to simplify owning, purchasing and selling of NFTs as you can bundle multiple into one SFT. To me, it seems to be a bet by Sony that NFTs will be a big part of future gaming and they’re preparing the way for them to be more functional.
