This week, we had the pleasure of hosting our American team! On Tuesday, the entire company embarked on a fun day in Jaffa, highlighting our company's core values. We began our morning with coffee and pastries by the sea at the Jaffa Port, followed by an engaging and entertaining "Amazing Race" challenge that embodied our values of fun and communication, fostering teamwork among our staff. Supercharge your PostgreSQL Database on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (#OCI) with Volumez Some of the biggest challenges while running a PostgreSQL in the public cloud center around the unpredictable cost for cloud resource consumption. It is common to underestimate this cost. Another challenge is around predictability of performance. OCI has been testing the Volumez solution in their current environment. Volumez produced impressive results. We have predictably delivered 65,000 transactions per second (TPS) or 3X the performance, 3.1ms latency or one-third the latency, and up to 75% of the cost savings compared to other fully managed database services. What is even more significant is that these are not just peak numbers, but sustainable and predictable numbers that our customers can rely on in their own customer-managed PostgreSQL environment. More exciting news from Volumez! The Volumez platform has been certified to meet #SOC2 Type II standards. This certification process, performed by PwC, examines our internal controls and systems related to security, confidentiality, processing integrity, privacy, and availability of customer data. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) developed the Service Organization Controls (SOC) suite of services with three types of reports: SOC 1, SOC 2, and SOC 3. The SOC 2 report is intended to provide information about a service organization’s system relevant to selected AICPA Trust Services Criteria (security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy). It enables report users to assess and address potential risks related to their relationship with that organization. It also offers assurance to service organizations and users that system controls reasonably protect the confidentiality and privacy of user information processed by the system. A SOC 2 report reflects a service auditor's attestation (opinion) regarding a service organization’s description of its system and the suitability of the design of its controls with respect to applicable Trust Services Criteria. A SOC 2 examination results in a report that provides a useful and standard way of understanding an organization’s oversight, corporate governance, supply chain management, and risk management processes. Volumez, a pioneering leader in Data Infrastructure as a Service (DIaaS), recently announced groundbreaking performance results from the latest MLCommons® #MLPerf® #Storage 1.0 AI/ML Training Benchmark. These results highlight Volumez’ commitment to delivering next-generation, cloud-aware data infrastructure for AI/ML workloads, pushing the boundaries of performance, scalability, and efficiency. AI/ML training remains one of the most demanding workloads in modern data infrastructure. Maximizing throughput to drive optimal GPU utilization is critical for accelerating model training, improving accuracy, and reducing operational costs. In the MLPerf Storage 1.0 Open Division benchmark, which focused on the storage-intensive 3D-UNet model, Volumez DIaaS for AI/ML demonstrated extraordinary linear scaling. The solution achieved a remarkable 1.079 TB/sec throughput with 92.21% GPU utilization and 9.9M IOPS1 on AWS—establishing a new industry standard for AI/ML training performance. This submission focused on addressing real-world trade-offs faced by ML engineers and MLOps teams - optimizing throughput and utilization without sacrificing model accuracy. Specifically, we modified the benchmark’s weight exchange frequency, a common practice in high-scale environments. This adjustment reduces network overhead to achieve increased throughput and GPU utilization. We delivered an impressive 1.140 TB/sec throughput and 97.82% GPU utilization1, a 5.43% improvement over our first submission.
