Automating skyscraper window cleaning isn’t a new idea. It’s been tried over 150 times since the 1970s. None of those attempts worked. Some failed because the technology wasn’t there. Others failed because the business model didn’t make sense. Many never made it past the idea stage. Skyline Robotics believes they’re different. In this clip, Ross Blum explains why. Skyline isn’t just building a robot. They’re figuring out how to actually make automation work in the real world—from technology, to business strategy, to building trust with the industry. Along with a Citi team and external expert contributors, I enjoyed looking at the many areas in which AI-robots could be useful to us going forward. We then tried to dimension how many AI-robots could be moving around us. Our conclusion was a lot. Over 4bn by 2050.
