What does “home” feel like when you’re thousands of miles away from family? For many lone soldiers and Masa Fellows, Shabbat can feel… different. The streets get quiet, the shops close but without family nearby, it can also feel lonely. That’s why, last Friday night, we partnered with The Lone Soldier Center to host a Shabbat dinner bringing together lone soldiers and Fellows who’ve chosen to make Israel their temporary or permanent home. The result? - Friendships forming between people who had never met before. - Soldiers finding comfort and connection after a long week. - Fellows experiencing their first Shabbat in a truly welcoming, local way. These moments matter. They’re what help someone not just live in Israel, but truly belong here. At Masa, we believe in supporting lone soldiers and Fellows beyond the programs and schedules because their experience in Israel is shaped by the community they find here. And that’s something we’ll keep building, one Shabbat table at a time. We share these stories because they’re a big part of what makes Israel a place people want to return to, invest in, and be part of. Follow along for more moments that turn strangers into family. #MasaIsraelJourney #LoneSoldiers #ShabbatDinner #LifeInIsrael

What happens when you mix climate activism, Israeli beaches, and a Vogue-style interview all in one take? You get this. We followed Sharona S. a Masa alum and founder of Tuesdays for Trash to her happy place (the beach) and hit record. No script. No cuts. Just fast-paced, unfiltered questions about: → What drives her to fight for our planet → How her identity shapes her mission → What keeps her hopeful — even when the world feels heavy It’s not your average Q&A. It’s raw, real, and proof that one person can spark a movement that goes global. If you care about purpose-driven leadership, sustainability, or seeing young changemakers in action watch this. Last week we celebrated the closing ceremony for the fellows of our most recent Magen David Adom (MDA) Overseas volunteering cohort from Israel Experience Over 150 dedicated Masa Fellows completed this unique and impactful experience, volunteering with Israel’s national emergency medical service and supporting communities across the country. From intensive training to real-time emergency response, these Fellows demonstrated resilience, compassion, and a deep commitment to helping others. We’re proud to partner with MDA to provide this meaningful opportunity and grateful to everyone who helped make these past seven sessions such a success. From the staff and trainers to the volunteers themselves. Together, we’re building a generation of global Jewish leaders who are deeply connected to Israel and committed to service. #MasaIsrael #MDA #VolunteerInIsrael #MasaVolunteers #JewishLeadership #IsraelExperience

Two and a half months on the ground with Magen David Adom responding to emergencies, supporting patients, and learning how EMS works in Israel. This is what it looks like when experience meets purpose. We’re proud to support volunteers like Maya who come here ready to give, grow, and connect!
Pre-PA Kinesiology, Athletic Healthcare, and Jewish Studies Student at University of Wisconsin-Madison
I have spent the past two and a half months volunteering with Magen David Adom in Israel, Israel’s national ambulance service, which has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. Especially being able to contribute to my community in a time of war, I was able to witness and be part of the impact Magen David Adom makes all over the country, every single second of the day. I had the privilege to use my prior EMS experience to make a large difference in so many different communities all over the country. Whether it was responding to life threatening emergency calls or holding the hand of a scared patient, I made sure to do everything in my power to make each patient’s day better and provide the best care possible. This experience wasn’t just about giving; it was about learning. It was so fascinating to learn about how EMS operates in a different country and learn how to respond in new ways. I learned new skills and had so many amazing opportunities that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Thank you to both Masa Israel Journey and Israel Experience® for making this possible. Thank you to Magen David Adom for welcoming me into your mission and thank you to everyone I met for becoming my family. I am eager to return and continue to volunteer with Magen David Adom in the future.

“If I had left, I would’ve felt like I was betraying the country I love.” That’s what 20-year-old Maverick, a Masa Volunteer fellow, told Israel Hayom this week. He arrived in Israel recently, trained with Magen David Adom, and chose to stay, to volunteer on ambulances in Tel Aviv. While his mother, American media personality Logan Levkoff, supports Israel through advocacy, Maverick followed in her footsteps and is showing up on the ground. And he’s not alone. Over the past year, hundreds of Masa participants have made the same choice to remain in Israel during its most challenging moments, to serve, to contribute, and to be part of something bigger than themselves. As Meir Holtz, our CEO, put it: “This generation is showing the unbreakable bond between Israel and the Diaspora, not just in comfortable times, but in the moments that truly matter.” This is the spirit of Masa: empowering young Jews to take action, lead with values, and turn connection into commitment. read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/dbh8hAgk sign up for masa volunteers: https://lnkd.in/dw7Y677r #MasaIsrael #MasaVolunteers #LeadershipInAction #JewishDiaspora #GlobalJewishCommunity #NextGenLeaders #Israel2025 #MasaImpact #TikkunOlam

A few weeks ago, we had the privilege of hosting the Masa Global Conference, a full week dedicated to connection, collaboration, and forward thinking. Our global team came together in Israel to align on our mission, share best practices, and spark new ideas for the future of immersive experiences in Israel. From powerful presentations to hands-on workshops, the conference gave us the space to learn, reflect, and grow together. But it wasn’t all strategy and structure, we also made time for team bonding, creative exchange, and celebrating our shared purpose. A festive group dinner, energizing brainstorms, and simply being in the same room with passionate, mission-driven colleagues reminded us what makes Masa so special. Here’s to deeper collaboration and an even greater impact ahead. #MasaIsrael #GlobalConference #JewishLeadership #Teamwork #Innovation #StrategicPlanning #MasaImpact
