RECENT SOCIAL ENGINEERING ATTACK! If this post helps even one company or job seeker avoid falling victim to this scam, I’ve done my part: Apono was impersonated in a fake job offer scam, and I spent the weekend alerting other founders. Unfortunately, I realized we’re not alone- hundreds of companies and individuals are being targeted as we speak. How It Works: 🚨 Attackers create fake company domains (e.g., careers-Apono.io, instead of Apono.io). 🚨 They scrape real job listings and reach out to job seekers- especially those with “#OpenToWork.” 🚨 After a fake interview, they ask victims to buy equipment or accept fake reimbursement cheques that later bounce. By the time job seekers realize, it’s too late. How to Stay Safe: ✔ Check the domain- always verify the company’s official site. ✔ Apply through official channels- never from random emails. ✔ Never send money or buy equipment- no real employer asks for upfront payments. If you’ve seen similar scams or fake domains, drop them in the comments so we can warn others. Let’s spread the word and protect our community. Stay safe!

I’ve used AI-assisted coding tools for years. Some were impressive, some felt like magic, but most? I tried them once and never looked back. Why? Because raw intelligence isn’t enough. The real difference between an AI tool we use every day and one we forget isn’t just how smart it is- it’s how seamlessly it fits into the way we work. Then I started using Cursor, an AI-powered development tool embedded in VS Code. And for the first time, AI didn’t feel like just another add-on- it felt like a real coding partner. It wasn’t just throwing suggestions my way; it was integrated into the way I already worked, making code reviews, refactoring, and collaboration feel effortless. It made such a difference that I got it for my entire team- helping them work smarter, move faster, and make their development process more efficient. This is just the beginning. More and more tools will emerge, reshaping the way we work and turning complex tasks into second nature. The ones that will truly stand out won’t just be the smartest or fastest- they’ll be the ones that make us all wonder how we ever managed without them.

**Our biggest meetup yet!** Yesterday, we had the privilege of gathering at Doron Gutman’s office at HoneyBook for an inspiring session. Doron, Head of DevOps and DevSecOps, shared valuable insights into the challenges his team faces in building a secure web hosting infrastructure, scaling it to meet Product team requirements, and navigating the Build vs. Buy dilemma. We also had a technical review of their solution based of Cert Manager and Kuberentes. Beyond that, we had an engaging technical roundtable, discussing Terraform state migration challenges, tools for managing large TF states, and the pros and cons of AWS EKS Auto Mode. We also explored how DevOps leaders calculate the cost per Kubernetes workload. It was fantastic to reconnect with familiar faces and welcome new ones - so much energy, learning, and great conversations. Looking forward to many more impactful meetups ahead! 😎 #DevOps #Community #Networking #Kubernetes #Terraform #CloudEngineering Apono

Check out community member Shay Elmualem's project, which analyzes GitHub Action workflows from your public repository and checks them for potential security issues, with open source tools and LLMs!
Hey all, Happy to share a weekend fun project I’ve been working on: gitcicd.com. It’s a simple platform that analyzes GitHub Action workflows from your public repository and checks them for potential security issues, currently using open-source tools while also incorporating LLMs. I’m still evaluating what combination yields the best results. You can visit the site, enter a repository name, and get results. Or, while browsing a GitHub public repository, just replace “hub” with “cicd” in the URL bar to start the analysis instantly. Fun fact: it’s running on a $5/month box for now, so responses might take a bit longer due to the compute involved. I’ll iterate and optimize as needed! I’d love to hear any thoughts, feature ideas, or bug reports. Thanks for checking it out! Shay
