According to Gallup’s World Poll, Irish people are experiencing the same level of stress as they did after the 2007/2008 recession. 📈 In both 2009 and 2023 an astonishing 40% of Irish people report having felt stress the previous day. Some Interesting and valuable insights from CIPD Ireland HR Practices in Ireland Survey into the current trends and challenges facing HR professionals in 2024. Key findings reveal a focus on recruitment and retention, talent management, employee well-being, and the increasing use of technology to support HR functions. Talent management and resourcing continue to remain in the spotlight with 91% of respondents experiencing skills shortages. Resourcing trends over the last 12 months include an Increased competition for experienced talent, recruitment of a more diverse workforce, difficulty retaining talent, more in-house talent development and housing difficulties. Generative AI is changing the way we work, creating exciting new opportunities for everyone in the workforce. As this transformation accelerates, it is important that everyone has the right AI skills and knowledge to thrive in the workplaces of tomorrow.   The latest Labour Market Pulse unveiled today by IDA Ireland, Microsoft and LinkedIn reveals that Ireland’s workforce is well positioned to navigate these changes and develop the skills necessary to use AI in their role.   Results show that Gen X has the most to gain from using generative AI tools to enhance productivity and undertake value-added work.
