The top 5 projects got the chance to present their project to the CEO of the brand, as well as academic staff. The plan included a SWOT analysis, positioning statement, the company's target market and objectives. The plan also included marketing tools and strategies we recommended for the brand. An analysis was completed using a different range of budgets.
The plan aimed to increase brand reach and facilitate the growth of it's online presence social media, influential content creators. We also suggested promotion through events such as festivals and wedding fairs.
Our team's efforts paid off in the end, as our team was chosen to present to the CEO of the brand.
This project has been a learning curve for me. It has allowed me to develop my communications skills, through presenting and communicating with peers. I also learned to interpret and negotiate with my team members. It also boosted my confidence in my work.

  • Website design and development

This group project commissioned us to develop a website for an up and coming Irish fashion designer. The website had to include certain pages such as contact details, latest designs, exhibitions and awards.
We arranged a meeting and we delegated the work load evenly. Although the project was very time consuming, it heightened my teamwork skills. It taught me to be open with my group and to trust them. It has also shown me the importance of supporting and respecting group members. The…

The project allowed us to be creative and sharpened my technical skills.

  • Mobile website design and development

This project required me to design and develop a functional Mobile website using JQuery Mobile and Dreamweaver to fulfil the brief. The brief was to design a mobile website to help promote an up-coming art exhibition at a local gallery that complements their existing full website.
This project allowed me to develop my technical skills. It helped to develop my skills in both photoshop and dreamweaver. It also encouraged my innovation skills. I found this project very enjoyable.

  • Supper for Simon Campaign

    -

“Marketing Consulting in Action” consisted of a practical project involving the client, “The Galway Simon Community”. “Marketing Consulting in Action” consisted of a practical project involving the client, “The Galway Simon Community”. The aim of the project was to relaunch their Supper for Simon campaign, which was launched a few months previous, but got off to a slow start. Our team wanted to create a buzz about the campaign. To achieve this, we took on the roles of marketing communications, video content, event management and corporates. Each team communicated and collaborated to achieve the objective. As part of the video content group, we decided to create shareable content to create awareness online. We produced 6 shareable videos, some of which were promotional videos for the event, as well as campaign videos which described what Supper for Simon was about and how easy it was to do.

The project was a real learning curve for me. It allowed me to challenge myself and to take action to deliver value to a real company. As a class, we achieved our primary objective, which was to create buzz and re-invigorate the campaign. Marketing communications reached thousands of people on social media platforms, as well as being interviewed by two radio stations, Flirt FM and iRadio. Event management organised an incredible event, with the help of everyone in the class. We raised over EUR1,000 for The Galway Simon Community. Video content of 6 shareable videos was produced, which reached over 10,000 people creating awareness around the campaign. The corporate team targeted business’ in Galway and were successful in getting 20 pledges, to host their corporate Supper for Simon. Overall, our team created buzz for an amazing campaign for a great cause, gained 20 corporate pledges, hosted 31 suppers, raised 1,000 for an incredible charity, made changes to the Galway Simon website and created shareable content that is now on the Galway Simon website. We did all the above, while gaining invaluable experience along the way.

  • Global Marketing Report

    -

This report required me to select a real life Irish based SME to research. The company my group chose to research is based on Animated Language Learning, for children with Autism. This Irish start-up currently operates out of NUIG's Business and Innovation Centre by Enda Dodd and his family. Throughout the project I discussed their strategy for internationalisation, focusing on motives and barriers to enter foreign markets. Through both primary and secondary research, my team and I were able to achieve an excellent grade in this report. I learned the importance of internationalisation and everything involved with the process, including the challenges company's face when going international. I have also become more capable of analysing information throughout my work in this project

  • Pope John Paul Award II

    -

To achieve this award, I had to take part in a number of voluntary activities which included parish involvement and social awareness. I completed my requirements by volunteering at the swimming pool to help people with disabilities and at my church assisting the organisation of alter servers. I also took part in a programme called Big Brother Big Sister. This involved mentoring younger students. I also took part in running my local youth club.

  • Peer Mentor

    Principle

This role involved providing support, encouragement and information to first year students. I was assigned a group of students each week to meet up with to ensure an easy transition from primary to secondary education.
