Performance Max campaigns work pretty well, but the algorithm doesn't know... what it doesn't know. Here's an example of a critical performance factor – size availability – which Google knows nothing about! 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 Your stock levels for any given product strongly influence its conversion rate. It's pretty obvious, right? If you have a shoe stocked in all the sizes, you stand a chance to convert any shopper that views it. Even if you only have it stocked in the core sizes, the picture still looks pretty good. But if you only stock the product in uncommon sizes, you're in trouble. 🚨 Google, though, doesn't have this information. They only know if your product is in or out of stock. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 The answer to this challenge is important, and simple, yet not always obvious: you have to 𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝐺𝑜𝑜𝑔𝑙𝑒 what it doesn't know. In the case below, an outdoor apparel brand scored how strong the stock levels are across sizes with a 0 to 10 index. They told Google! 0 is out of stock, and 10 indicates availability across all sizes. As you can see, it's not a perfect linear relationship, but the trend is still clear: items with better size availability typically convert better. That's common sense, and it's also supported by a strong .83 correlation. Feeding Google this information was part of a larger effort to reduce budget wasted on products that don't need advertising pressure – and shift that budget to products that do. 𝗚𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 Did we say earlier it's not a perfect linear relationship? That's actually really important! Let's discuss: Do you notice how items with an availability index of 10 perform pretty bad? That's because a lot of low-demand products have very high availability (*cough* overstock *cough*). It's an interesting lesson that even an attribute that's generally good at predicting performance can also become misleading at a certain point. If you'd push all your budget at those "10" items – you'd be wrong. On the other hand, there might be some very high-demand products in the "5" bucket, causing it to perform above trend. These natural variations show the advantage of 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶-𝗱𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗴𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: more than just one signal is considered, allowing for a more balanced approach. Multi-dimensional WHAT? 🚨 Why Scope3 buying Adloox is actually a huge deal 🚨 Scope3 has just announced the acquisition of french ad verification specialist Adloox. From what I gathered, the deal was completed in less than two monthes, which is impressive and partly explained by the fact the two companies already knew each other well, having announced a first partnership earlier this year. Partnership which saw Adloox integrate Scope3 data directly into its dashboarding suite. Adloox, which works with 300 brands, is obviously nowhere near as big as the two giants of the sector : IAS and Doubleverify. But it is a profitable company, whose founder, Romain Bellion, is well known in the market. It's also a company with rare and hard-to-crack technical assets, which enable Scope3 to adress measurement topics that are way more mature today : visibility, fraud, brand safety and attention. We are talking about a 2 to 4 billions dollars industry. 1° Scope 3 become a sustainable media efficiency solution A repositioning that comes with some pragmatism : advertisers find it hard to move solely on the subject of carbon optimization. This KPI needs to be coupled with business issues. That’s where media quality come into play since buying “viewed by human only” ad impressions make you save both dollars AND carbon. Needless to say that Scope3's reputation will boost Adloox commercial traction worldwide. This is all the more true given that Moat's demise, a few months ago, leaves room for a 3rd giant in media quality measurement. “The market needed an alternative to 'IAS and DoubleVerify to ensure healthy competition”, observes an insider. Scope3/Adloox will be this alternative. 2° Scope 3 gets its hands on a technology that is natively integrated into the market's leading advertising platforms: Meta, Amazon Ads, DV 360, The Trade Desk and Xandr.  Adloox is even available “prebid” from those three DSPs, enabling “plug and play” access for  each trader using these tools. No need for a contractual relationship with them (the DSP manages everything). Imagine an artisanal yoghurts maker moving from its local Sunday market to the shelves of Walmart, Costco, Amazon, Target and so on… Scope3 saves months, if not years, in its integration roadmap. An insider tells me that DV 360 hasn't been opening up prebid access to third-parties for years. 3° Scope 3 gets its hands on a technology that is well versed with the Media Rating Council (MRC), the media industry's self-regulatory body in the USA. Its visibility and fraud measurement tools have been accredited for years. This is obviously a major advantage for Scope3, as carbon measurement is “doomed” to be the subject of such an accreditation in the years to come. Last June, the WFA, Garm and Ad Net Zero set up a global framework for carbon measurement, which is a prerequisite for such an accreditation. 90% of SaaS companies lose money on their Google ads Here are 8 things that successful ads have in common : - Got the data right in their media platform - Reached the right audiences and tracked them correctly - Ramped up budgets slowly given their budget constraints and tracked the market feedback in terms of ROI and demos - Had a irresistible offer, which also matched their landing page - Is creative in their video messaging for both TOFU and MOFU to get those demo requests/sales. - Optimized for sales not conversions. They worked out which keywords and placements have the highest sales rate. You can do this by using Google’s Value Track Parameters. - Used curiosity, shock, direct benefit, fear, vanity and self interest in their copy - Had one keyword per ad group, your ad becomes instantly more relevant, making it more likely to convert and more likely to yield you a sale.

Klaviyo Tips Lesson 1: Drive Higher Conversions with Effective #Segmentation Whilst we may not be able to control the rising cost of acquisition, segmentation is within our control, and an often untapped way to boost your conversion rates from your existing traffic. By dividing your audience into specific groups based on their behavior and preferences, you can tailor your content and offers to their needs. Let’s start with the basics of segmentation. 👩‍🎤 Demographic Segmentation - Segment customers based on location, gender, or preferences gathered through surveys. This approach allows for #personalizedmarketing. If you run a fashion site in the US, segment customers by location to show them weather-appropriate clothing. (But be careful not to generalize too much here and make assumptions!) 👩‍💻 Behavioral Segmentation - Track what your customers do on your website, such as browsing habits, search history, and past purchases. For example, you could create a segment for customers who engage without purchasing. This group can be targeted with specific product recommendations or discounts, prompting them to convert. 💕 Affinity Segmentation - Focus on product preferences and engagement. For example, with Klevu’s integration with Klaviyo, you can use Klevu Search events to group high-intent shoppers searching for certain things, and target them with relevant content and offers. Now, I’d like to encourage you to start thinking about your segments not only about organizing your #CRM, but also in terms of shoppers converting to different segments. If we start thinking about our segments more analytically, we can understand what the goal of the segment is, and start to measure that. Your marketing team could have a KPI to grow the number of shoppers in a particular segment, for example. 🚀 Pro Tip: Combine Behavioral and Affinity Segmentation strategies to create more personalized, high-value segments that align with conversion goals.
