“Viktoriia may be the best QA engineer I have ever worked with. She is smart and holds her own in technical discussions and is not afraid to push back when appropriate while still being very grounded and focused on the end result for the user. She never needs to have a topic or a workflow explained more than once. Her documentation when creating new tickets and verifying existing tickets is impeccable, with just the correct amount of information to reproduce without any unrelated cruft. Finally, she simply works very hard: 'above and beyond' is her baseline.”

🌟 Embracing Growth on My Birthday! 🌟 Today, as I celebrate another year of life, I find myself reflecting on the greatest gift I can give myself: the opportunity for self-improvement and personal as well as professional growth. That's why I'm thrilled to be attending the SForce - Poland Salesforce Meetup, which coincidentally starts on my birthday. It's no secret that I am actively looking for my dream project in the Polish market. I believe in signs, and what better sign could there be than attending this Summit on such an auspicious day? I'm eager to soak in knowledge and explore new possibilities. After all, growth isn't just about climbing higher - it's about expanding horizons, embracing challenges, and seizing every opportunity for advancement. As I immerse myself in this Summit, I carry with me the belief that the best is yet to come. #PersonalGrowth #ProfessionalDevelopment #DreamProject #SalesforceSummit #BirthdayReflections #https://sforcesummit.pl/

Music can significantly impact motivation and productivity at work. It can create a positive atmosphere, reduce stress levels, and improve concentration. Research shows that certain genres of music can stimulate creativity and enhance focus. For example, classical music or instrumental pieces can aid in performing complex tasks that require attention to detail. Meanwhile, energetic music can boost energy levels and help maintain a fast work pace for routine tasks. It's also important to consider individual preferences, as music that employees enjoy can further motivate them and enhance their overall well-being during work.

Recently, I've been actively searching for a QA Engineer position and have noticed a stark contrast between job hunting in the USA and Russia. Despite sending out numerous applications to US companies, many do not even result in an interview, whereas my experience with companies in other countries, including Russia, has been more positive and engaging. This difference in response rates is concerning and raises several questions. What are the factors that contribute to this disparity? Is it related to differences in hiring practices, market conditions, or something else? I believe this is an important topic that needs to be discussed. How can job seekers navigate these challenges, and what can companies do to ensure they are not missing out on qualified candidates? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this matter. #JobSearch #QAEngineer #HiringPractices #CareerDiscussion #GlobalOpportunities

Do you hire developers based on technical skills alone? It could be costing you. Many companies make this mistake, believing that if a developer can code well, they’ll automatically thrive in the team. But this is not always the case. I have a client in Krakow who specifically hires Java Engineers who can have a “normal conversation" about software, clean code practices, and general life. But most importantly someone he can get along with. If they can do that, he’s usually ready to hire them. However, if they don’t fit culturally, it doesn’t matter if they’ve coded at Google, have an Oxbridge education, or have a long list of technical achievements. They won’t get the job. This is also not unique. According to Leaders.com, approximately 80% of employers take personality into account when making hiring decisions. Also research from Harvard Business Review found that 40-60% of hiring managers admit to hiring candidates who resemble them in terms of background, values, or attitudes. None of this mentions their skills. The ability to mesh with the team and collaborate is non-negotiable. Some people picture developers as introverted hackers, coding away in dark rooms, surrounded by empty energy drink cans. The stereotype that developers don’t need social skills in my opinion, comes from how they’re portrayed in Hollywood (Die Hard 4 was what came to mind when writing this). In reality, developers are part of cross-functional teams. They interact with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders daily. They need to explain complex ideas, collaborate on solutions, and contribute to the team’s overall culture. A developer who can’t work well with others or communicate effectively can disrupt workflows, no matter how technically gifted they are. It’s like having the most advanced software that no one knows how to use. What’s the point? The best hires are those who fit into your culture and can contribute to the team dynamic - not just those who can write the cleanest code. So if you’re only hiring based on technical skills, you might be missing out on your most valuable assets: collaboration, communication, and cultural fit. Skills get you in the door, but culture fit keeps you there. Do you take culture fit into account when hiring engineers? #SoftwareEngineering #PolandTech #TechRecruitment #PolandJobs #CultureFit #DeveloperLife #WorkplaceCulture #TechRecruitment

Time passes by so quickly when you are among like minded people! I had an opportunity to take a part in a great workshop by Bartosz Kuczera regarding API Testing with node.js. Then two busy days full of stimulating lectures, like the one by the Guys from jaktestowac.pl and inspiring QA talks in between. Now back to our projects with heads full of new ideas. #QA #TestWarez #intive #testing

Hello! I'm now in my seventh week of actively seeking a new role, and I'd like to share some observations from my journey in the IT job market: Market Dynamics: Contrary to common beliefs, the IT market isn't as bleak as some suggest, nor as idyllic as it once was. The bubble has indeed burst, leading to a more refined market. Options may be fewer, but demand for highly skilled professionals remains strong. I find it particularly engaging when asked about my achievements in previous projects during interviews—it’s both challenging and exciting. Salary Transparency: Salaries are competitive and often transparent. Most job openings now provide a clear salary range, reflecting a maturation in the job market compared to years past. Recruiter Efficiency: The jokes about recruiters couldn’t be further from the truth! Most recruiters are knowledgeable and precise, with only rare technical misunderstandings—perfectly understandable. Technical Interviews: While they can be intense, they are not the nightmares they’re made out to be. Most interviewers are friendly and trusting, focusing on your actual skills and knowledge, though make no mistake - you will be tested and tried. Feedback Culture: More than half of my job applications receive a personalized response—excluding autoresponders. The further I get in the application process, the more detailed the feedback becomes. I am quite pleased with the level of detail provided as I progress deeper into the process. For those also navigating the IT job market, here are two tips: Diversify Your Search: Explore various job boards. I've found LinkedIn, Just Join IT, and No Fluff Jobs to be particularly helpful. I tried a few other boards but with little results. Smart CV Building: Focus not just on aesthetics but on substance. Clearly articulate what you truly excel at; your resume should serve as a blueprint of your expertise, setting the stage for your interviews. If you have tips or experiences to share, I’d love to hear them! #OpenToWork #ITJobs #JobSearchTips #JobHunt

➡️Next weekend, I’ll be participating in discussions at the online conference "𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐠𝐞𝐮𝐬𝐞" by QA Ukraine (Oleksa Mashchyts ) https://lnkd.in/dYZwvu86 🔹𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞: 𝐔𝐤𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧 I’ll be sharing my experience with test automation and addressing common challenges we face in auto-testing The complexity of automation lies in the fact that there’s no single protocol. Nobody knows the "right" way. Everything depends on context: infrastructure, team size and structure, technologies. That’s why it’s essential to talk with colleagues and share experiences: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧’𝐭 — and discuss why. For example, for some, RE-running tests 4-5 times is normal (I call this "𝑚𝑎𝑦𝑏𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑡𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑠 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑝𝑎𝑠𝑠"💔🫣), but for others, even 2-3 reruns is "𝐰𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐝"🫰 There are many such questions. There’s a lot of context, which is why it’s valuable to discuss. Join us if you have the opportunity! 🙏 #qa #qaukraine #softwaretesting

Among other goals in my career development plan, I have the following one: 'success stories of subordinates/clients getting promoted'. And today I could finally check this box for the first time: my mentee Prokhor Druzenko has just passed his Grade Review to Middle QA Engineer, consisting of 3 assessors, 3 calls in 2 days, 4 excel tabs with soft and hard skills, feedback collection, English exam and 20 slides of self-pitch presentation. My most sincere congratulations, so well deserved! I'm very touched by the results of your efforts. My Senior Grade Review is also scheduled within this month, so this approach will be an example of a willpower for me: I hope to present a no worse case.

This spring, I had the chance to participate in two panel discussions at QA Sis Conf #2, so here's a post to share the recordings and express my gratitude to the inspiring women I met there — from those who watched and asked questions to every speaker who shared their knowledge and perspective. And, of course, to the ones who created it all by organizing, setting up the tech part, moderating discussions, etc, etc. The conference assembled more than 30 presentations/workshops/discussions, so I haven't even finished watching everything I planned. 🎙 The first year in testing: what's next https://lnkd.in/dCVTkKkN 🎙A start in test automation https://lnkd.in/dcpq-jKn

In this era of yoga and meditation hype 🧘♀️ , I've found my own way to meditate: 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 📓 Sometimes I have to persuade myself to start, especially in English (my mother tongue is Ukrainian). But I only need to begin, and then I'm transported to another universe. After reading, I feel more relaxed and proud of myself 💫 I've divided my reading into two categories: informative and light. In the 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 category, I read psychology books or material about recruiting—in short, anything that helps me learn new information. The 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 category includes books that don't require much mental effort. Usually, it's a romantic story. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧? 💎 P.S. As you see, I have a perfect helper and page-keeper 🐾😄
