Myself and two other students, Paul Flynn and Christopher Hunt, conducted a study into the reasons why Irish people have on average such a low proficiency in the Irish language, with a project entitled "Why Can't We Speak Irish?". The project attracted much attention from the national media at the exhibition, and an Irish Times article about the project was shared over 2000 times online. The project won third place in the most hotly contested category in the competition - the Intermediate Social and Behavioural Sciences category.
