About us
We started the Dublin Marathon in 1980 with 2,100 runners taking part. We are now the fifth-largest marathon in Europe, with over 20,000 entries annually. We are a not-for-profit organisation that aims to provide an exceptional racing experience. We support runners on their journey, inspiring and motivating them to achieve their goals. We are known as the ‘Friendly Marathon’ because of the incredible volunteers and supporters who line the marathon course route on race day. The marathon also raises an estimated €9 million annually for charity partners and €26.5 million for the city of Dublin. The Dublin Race Series, consisting of four events (Corkagh Park 5 Mile, Fingal 10km, Frank Duffy 10 Mile, and Dublin Half-Marathon), was introduced in 2002 to help train runners for the Dublin Marathon. In its first year, 3,000 participants signed up for the Series. Today, the events attract around 20,000 participants. Entries for the 2025 Irish Life Dublin Marathon will open to the 2024 participants for 72 hours from Monday 18th of November ⏰ It will also open for the same time frame for all women who entered the 2024 Irish Life Dublin Half Marathon, this is to encourage and support more female entrants to the marathon. Please be aware that email notifications will be sent out in batches throughout that day. We thank you in advance for your patience. Applications for entries for the 2025 Irish Life Dublin Marathon via the lottery system will go live on the event website on Thursday 21st of November at 10am and will close midnight on Wednesday 27th of November. Registrants who applied via the lottery system will learn their entry status via email on Monday 2nd of December. One entry per person is permitted. There is an administration charge of €5 per lottery entry which is redeemable against an entry fee of €110 if successful and non-redeemable if unsuccessful. #IrishLifeDublinMarathon #PowerOfSupport

Special thank you to Assistant Commissioner Angela Willis and An Garda Síochána for their continued support for the #IrishLifeDublinMarathon ❤️ From dawn, they were in the control centre, out patrolling on the route, and helping to keep our course clear for participants with disruption being kept to a minimum for the general public.
