The The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification has issued an alert saying "the worst-case scenario of famine is currently playing out in the Gaza Strip. Mounting evidence shows that widespread starvation, malnutrition, and disease are driving a rise in hunger-related deaths". The report says "immediate action must be taken to end the hostilities and allow for unimpeded, large-scale, life-saving humanitarian response. This is the only path to stopping further deaths and catastrophic human suffering." A link to the full report is in the post below.

In a landmark ruling, and a victory for countries that are most vulnerable to climate change, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) has ruled that governments can be held legally responsible for failing to act on climate change. It said some high emitting countries may owe reparations to those harmed by climate disasters, and that fossil fuel production, licensing and subsidies “may constitute an internationally wrongful act.” The court reaffirmed that the right to a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment is a human right under international law.
I welcome that the International Court of Justice (ICJ) has made it very clear: all States are obligated under international law to protect the global climate system. This is a victory for the planet, for climate justice, and for the power of young people leading the way. https://lnkd.in/eBU_J47R
