The Screening of Third Country Transactions Act 2023 which came into force in Ireland on 6 January 2025, giving effect to EU Regulation 2019/452, introduces a new mandatory notification regime requiring parties to notify the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment of in-scope acquisitions of Irish targets (whether assets or undertakings) in sensitive sectors.
