AmCham was delighted to have Jennifer Carroll MacNeill TD, Minister for Health, launch AmCham’s 2025 US-Ireland Business Report: ‘Succeeding Together: Driving Transatlantic Innovation and Trade’, at the Consulate General of Ireland, New York, yesterday evening. We were thrilled to be joined by over 150 AmCham members, stakeholders and friends for the launch of the report, which outlines the strength of the two-way Ireland-US business relationship, worth over €1 trillion annually. Minister Carroll MacNeill said: “Ireland is the 6th largest investor into the United States, and also the first, the largest, the biggest, on a per capita basis.” “It really shows the commitment of Irish people and Irish companies to the US, and also the opportunity that the US provides in terms of capital raising and other measures to support Irish businesses coming into the United States.” She added: “And we want to do more, is the very clear message from the Irish Government this week. We want to do more to support Irish companies to come and invest in the United States. We want our companies to thrive and flourish here, to employ loads of people and to do it everywhere. “As the report also outlines though, it is important that we remember this is very much a two-way relationship. We now have 970 US companies in Ireland, employing nearly 400,000 people directly and indirectly.” Minister Carroll MacNeill highlighted many of the competitive advantages that have led US companies to invest in Ireland, including our skilled and talented workforce, our unique position as the only English-speaking, common-law gateway to the EU for US companies, our open economy, which is focused on some of the fastest growing sectors globally and our consecutive, stable and pro-enterprise government administrations. AmCham members, stakeholders and friends, also heard from AmCham CEO Paul Sweetman, AmCham 2025 Vice-President, Mark Cockerill, and Consul General of Ireland, New York, Helena Nolan. A huge thank you to the team at the Consulate General of Ireland, New York for hosting us for the event. Session 4 of the AmCham Emerging Leaders Development Programme took place on Thursday in the stunning offices of Signify Health Ireland in Galway City. This session focused on two critical leadership skills: Managing Up and Delegation. The workshop was expertly facilitated by Sarah Smith, The Knot Worldwide, who led participants through thought-provoking discussions on the power of managing up and the emotions—both positive and negative—associated with effective and ineffective delegation. Following an engaging morning session, the group enjoyed a fireside chat with Sarah and Elaine Murphy, VP & Site Lead at Signify Health. Their reflections on leadership, career growth, and navigating challenges provided invaluable insights for the next generation of leaders. A huge thank you to Sarah, Elaine, the Signify Health team, and all our programme participants for an inspiring session. And a special thank you to our programme sponsors Accenture and to Hilary O'Meara and the Accenture team, for their ongoing support in developing future leaders. #AmChamLeaders

Martin Wall, Public Policy Correspondent, The Irish Times sat down with AmCham’s Communication Manager Aoife O'Brien at AmCham’s 2025 Global Business Conference to discuss strengthening Ireland-US relations in a post-election environment. Martin spoke about the strength of US-Ireland relations highlighting the unparalleled access the Taoiseach receives during the St. Patrick’s week festivities “one of the most powerful currencies is access and to have face to face time with the President of the United States for 20 minutes to an hour to get your view across is gold dust.” During the festivities “the Taoiseach and his officials have access to the most senior people on Capitol Hill, to their senior staffers, to their people that write the legislation. So the level of access is extraordinary and we need to bear that in mind, that it’s not just about shamrocks, or drinking green beer or wearing green ties, and say this is a really significant business and political opportunity.” Martin highlighted that this access is not just within Washington but also in New York and San Francisco and other cities throughout the US where “there will be Irish ministers and Irish government officials making the same point at state level.” Martin noted the impact that business leaders and stakeholders that are travelling from Ireland to the US will have throughout St. Patrick’s Week, as they meet with influential leaders across America. Martin also pointed out that while millions and millions of Americans have heritage from other European countries, those countries “don’t have the same level of access”. Thank you so much to our event sponsor Bank of America Business, our media partner The Irish Times and our US conference partner U.S. Chamber of Commerce #AmChamGlobalBiz25
